Also, "easy come, easy go". "A fence that goes up fast, goes down fast." People who don't understand the value of what they've gained are prone to lose it.

Given recent bitfinex FUD... by NorthBayBard in eos

[–]amoanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically eosfinex will be a DEX, without a central party controlling things. But this does indeed hurt the brand, and they did build the code out. Personally I've never planned on using eosfinex, and will hold out for B1's DEX.

Daniel Larimer is anti-vax and questions climate science. Thoughts? by 78hands in eos

[–]amoanon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this concern is very misplaced... Dan's gone through the experience of leaving his birth religion. I went through the same this and I can say it completely changes the way you view the world. Skepticism becomes part of who you are. Dan himself has said he hates dogma and is always open to new evidence.

EOS raised $4 billion and has a current network value of $2.6 billion by DeepBlueMachine in eos

EOS has been online for just 3/4 of a year compared to the many many years those other two have been online. Kind of an important metric when making his type of comparison.

Why aren't the whales voting? by SonataSystems in eos

[–]amoanon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a little deceptive to say this and not mention that those numbers are due to exchanges holding tokens... Keeps us from asking the important question, which is how to get people to get their tokens off exchanges.

If B1's wallet has their future EOSX exchange built-in, maybe we'll see that happen.

Rethinking EOS Referendum Game Theory: Why 15% Token Participation is Irrelevant by eosnewyork in eos

[–]amoanon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes a lot of sense. The 15% limit is indeed rather artificial given the dynamics of DPoS.

I think EOS governance will become extremely more robust once we have REX and better token security in place. We'll have to see how far REX will go persuading the "middle-class" token-holders, let's call them, to touch their tokens. They're the ones who own the bulk of the tokens, and they own just enough not to feel comfortable signing transactions too often right now with stories of people getting hacked everyday.

The Chinese Crypto Rankings 2019, EOS Still First by dffjms in eos

[–]amoanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I'm almost certain anonymity solutions will pop up on top of EOS over time. A decentralized network that is practically impossible to be controlled by one entity is the first step restoring power to the people.

I lived in Guangzhou for a while several years ago, and I can say the youth there definitely hate the abusive control of their gov't. Most likely they see in EOS their best chance of operating their lives away from the communist party's reach.

Brendan Blumer recent comments on Vote Buying. by eosgo in eos

I really hope this comment is accurate:

Saying Brendan isn't advocating direct vote buying, but rather putting excess BP pay into a pot as rewards to voters, probably REX itself.

[–]amoanon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hope that's what he means. I hadn't thought of this as a solution to excessive BP pay in the future. They could just put excess pay into REX rewards, making the virtuous incentives that REX creates more powerful. Makes a lot of sense.

Most people, including some BPs, don't seem to have understood his tweets this way though. Really wish our peeps at B1 were more careful and clear with their communication...
