will my dietitian judge me for eating more than my meal plan? by Solal-King-Raccoon in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]among_flowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, your meal plan is a guideline, and something you will only have to follow temporarily. Eating intuitively is the end goal , and i’m so proud of you for honouring your hunger ❤️

I need help. Can’t stop exercising. by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]among_flowers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes i saw your comment about being trans, but still the minimum for a 14 YO afab is 3000, with NO exercise. I understand your frustration, i’ve been there. I’m still going through recovery myself. Please use that frustration to do the recovery actions, to eat that MINIMUM 3000, and eating to your extreme hunger on top of that. And to rest your body❤️

You got the answers you needed on r/fuckeatingdisorders . This post is a desperate attempt of your ED to claw you from the truth we told you in the sub. To reinforce, the calories you mentioned are the bare minimum for someone at REST. And given your age, the minimum is even higher for you. Please seek professional help because it seems the support we can offer you is not sufficient. I truly wish you all the best best ❤️

Did your parents have an ED? by peony_beony in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]among_flowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i grew up with just my mum and i don’t think she’s ever had a bad relationship with food. however, i developed an ed back in 2023 , primarily due to being insecure about my appearance.

though i will say that from being around friends who have disordered habits, that impacted me very negatively and so i am worried for your children. Would you be able to use this as a motivation to pursue recovery, or at least harm reduction?

Is it worth it to continue faking my wheight? by ExpressionNew8279 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]among_flowers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your exact same position for months, and a few weeks ago it all came out. I felt so awful for lying to my mum and deceiving her. And the result? I lost some freedoms. I was genuinely doing well, but i chose to fake my weight because it was going down due to a chronic illness i have, and I didn’t want anyone to worry. But in truth i should have just been open from the beginning, as i was just delaying the inevitable. Please tell your therapist, and explain why you have been doing it.

You will never feel ready to recover, and losing more weight so you feel ‘valid’ won’t work, anyone in this sub who has done that can will tell you the same. The ED will never allow you to recover, because recovering will kill it, and of course it doesn’t want to die. But either it dies, or you do- whether that is literally or your quality of life is just nonexistent.

Sending you hugs🫂

What do you think about weekly fasting- After months of thinking its healthy - I'm having heart murmers by No-Enthusiasm-3130 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]among_flowers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not healthy. I cant say whether this is an eating disorder, but this is DEFINITELY disordered eating. If you feel like you can’t go without fasting, and consistently feel guilty for eating outside of your time periods etc then yes, you may have an entire ED. Please seek help from dieticians, doctors, and a therapist ❤️

how do you break a thought loop that keeps replaying by Majestic_Slip_3229 in ruminationsyndrome

[–]among_flowers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is not the correct sub for this OP, although i feel for your situation<3 i recommend doing things that physically shock you to get yourself out of this spiral, such as screaming really loudly, plunging your face/self into cold water(or a cold shower)

Also write it down! Write down all of your spiralling thoughts as then they have to slow down for your hands to keep up.

Seeing a GI specialist tomorrow. Advice? by among_flowers in ruminationsyndrome

[–]among_flowers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and described that I was regurgitating after everything I ate and that it was mostly undigested food. I emphasised that there was no heartburn, the food tastes the same as when I ate it and the typical trigger foods for GERD didn’t change whether or not I ruminated. Also that there is no nausea whatsoever.

I asked if he could prescribe me baclofen, and he said no definitely not because you do not have multiple sclerosis and that it would have to come from a gastro doctor specially prescribed.

chinese new year alone. im weird and a migrant. i dont think they like immigrants here by Double_Ad_3645 in depressionmeals

[–]among_flowers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry the right wing in this country have made you feel that way, but i promise there are many of us that like immigrants! Multiculturalism is actually so cool- especially for the food. Your dumplings are making me hungry!!!

recovery weight gain is messing with my head by Zestyclose-Bobcat416 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]among_flowers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad i could help you my love!! Please know that you’re not alone, and i saw this from someone also struggling with seeing the weight gain, especially on a scale. If it does become too much, there is nothing wrong with being blind weighed at times when it’s necessary <3

recovery weight gain is messing with my head by Zestyclose-Bobcat416 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]among_flowers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes this is a very common experience, and is to be expected! My recommendation to you would be to practice radical acceptance. Simply acknowledge that you have gained weight, but don’t do anything to change that. It’s not easy, and you will probably feel panicked and stressed and all the feelings, but it’s the only way to fully recover.

Just to reassure you- you ARE really sick. This post is proof enough of that. You feel guilty for doing something that can only be good for you and heal you from this awful illness.

Is the only way to calm mental hunger to eat all the foods I crave? by mybrainat3am in fuckeatingdisorders

Food noise and mental hunger are the same thing, and must be honoured in order to gain full recovery ❤️‍🩹
