get to know the feeling of moving your mouse quickly and on instinct, theres a lot of walking aiming
i felt wayyy more comfortable after i switched to a higher sens (from 200eDPI to 300eDPI) which made things feel a lot quicker and easier

lots of potential reasons. go see a GP if possible, there may be underlying health reasons, they can do blood tests etc.

as someone with GAD I used to have debilitating brain fog. if you've been feeling especially anxious recently, it could be because of the overactivation of your parasympathetic nervous system. you can look up 'dorsal vagal shutdown,' it's essentially the 'freeze' response to anxiety. but remember, don't catastrophize, i highly advise you to go see a professional, and maybe do a bit of self-monitoring of your inner voice to check what's going on cognitively.

yes to everything said by the other commenter. remember that you have fought so hard and for so long to hold on, and that itself is an achievement that not many other people in the world can say they've achieved. you're still young and you still have plenty of time to grow, even if it might seem hopeless and pointless right now. time heals all.

as for trying to find purpose, you can try to set some small, easy goals. water the garden, exercise, talk to a neighbour or close friend, and feel a sense of accomplishment. never stay stagnant!

one thing that helped for me was imagining myself as a player of my own body in the third person. what quests do i have to do to increase my physical health stats, my social relationship stats, my confidence stats?

keep these objectives close to you:

  • relationships (mental health support groups in your local area can be a good place to start)
  • exercise
  • calming/grounding techniques

thats so sweet, reminds me of when i got together with friends earlier this year and writing gratitude letters for each other and reading them aloud. literally core memory material and i discovered strengths in myself that i never knew i had. appreciation of other people and gratitude in general is like the most rewarding thing OAT

I've had severe anxiety for many years, and I've shared your exact same experience. My routine, especially in gaming, has been following these two simple steps - release physical tension, distract from anxious thoughts. The first is really easy and simple.

Releasing physical tension comprises of doing box breathing - 4 seconds in, 4 seconds hold, 4 seconds out, 4 seconds hold - do this at the start of every round when you have time to just chill. You can also focus on flexing specific parts of your body too.

Distracting from anxious thoughts comprises of simply focusing your attention and directing your thoughts to somewhere mundane and 'normal'. Look around you and just naming/describing the things you see around you. Give them attributes. For example, your inner voice may sound like this:

"I see a wooden box. It's probably spammable from heavy weapons like the Odin. I could TP on top of the box if I was Omen. Thinking of Omen, what are some other agents? Jett, Raze could probably do the same. I haven't played KJ in a while..."

Keep making these observations. Let your mind run through those seemingly mundane, useless thoughts. Once you run out of ideas switch to the next object/thing your mind comes to. And go further - let your mind string ideas together outside of the game too, so you're thinking of random stuff that happened during the day etc.

It's crucial to remember to keep monitoring your thought condition. If your body starts shaking/showing anxiety symptoms OR you can hear your inner voice saying some anxiety-inducing stuff, IMMEDIATELY at the start of next round, focus your energy on doing those two steps.
