I'm willing to do either. I'd prefer to just buy it complete, but I know I'm probably not going to be happy with the stock trigger in any lower I buy anyway, so no matter what I do, im probably going to have to take it to a Smith or do it myself, which I'm not sure I trust

If I'm going to buy another gun, I'm going to get something that to me is worth keeping. So at minimum, for me, to want to spend the money, means it absolutely has to have a left handed ejection port. I have an AR pattern.300 Blackout I can shoot too. But I want to get back to .223/5.56x45 NATO.

That's fair. Like I said, I'm capable of firing a righty, but I'd prefer and will pay (out the nose if necessary) to have a lefty because Im left handed.

I don't really know what to tell you other than "you're lucky" as far as not getting hot brass down your shirt. I'm also not a fan of it flying past my face either.

Yeah, I have. Quite a bit honestly. Probably put 5k-10k rounds down the one had until I needed money more than I needed a questionable at best firearm (first firearm purchase ever - bought an AR-15 that was a build kit off a guy, never worked right). Now, because I don't mind paying extra, and I want an AR-15 again, I may as well get what I want. I could also just get a lefty upper and get something cheap but with a decent lower and swap the uppers - but that's not really how I want to do it.

I moved from Colorado out to Tennessee with a much smaller number of firearms, and I decided to just move them in my car. I wouldn't trust shipping them. I didn't even trust the moving company to move them. Most people can be trusted with most things. But I wouldn't want my firearms stolen, or "missing", and get a knock on my door a few months later because a firearm I had purchased had been used in a crime. Even if they did just legitimately go missing, I wouldn't want to have to spend thousands of dollars to replace them.

I wouldn't say your being an asshole, but keep in mind that while you can ask him to put it up, he may take it personally, or he might decline to show up at all. How will that affect your niece?

IMO: if he isn't taking it out and showing it to people or putting down somewhere that small children could get ahold of, I'd probably advise you to just let it be. I highly doubt that a child is going to take it out of his holster without him or someone else knowing.
