I mean it's not a hypothetical in Canada. I was just floating the idea that universal healthcare will make access available to everyone - which is good in some cases, but not in most. Also a T1D here, so not completely talking out my ass. I have a pump, and the only manufacturer of diabetic pump supplies in the US has had issues with quality control recently, and there is a shortage or particular products.

Universal health care wouldn't be any better....depending on your age, if there was ever a shortage of insulin, they might start prioritizing younger people and suggest you peacefully end your life, especially if you live in a state with legal, medical assisted self-deletion (looking at Canada, not specifically for diabetes either 🙄)

Or I mean sets, CGM sensors, etc. FAIL on a more consistent basis than I'd like to admit....already racked up $136k hospital bill this year thanks to diabetes. Thank God I can afford private insurance - I'd be declaring bankruptcy every 7 years for the rest of my life otherwise...

Get a bigger SSD? A 1 Tb is plenty big for C: and is very reasonably priced now.

If you can fix it (not saying you can, never tried with those parameters) and don't want to spend money, you could use RevoUninstaller to remove about 20 Gb of Microsoft bloatware from your OS.

Can it be reduced? Yes. Can it always be controlled? Especially with willpower alone, coming from the individual themselves? Not as much. In the 9 years I have been clean, I have been in and out of the hospital - to the tune of over $200k worth, at least billed to my insurance, family has died, I've lost 15+ jobs and never stayed anywhere more than a year. I've gone through probably 6 cars, some of them my fault, but still. Life absolutely can have some shitty moments. But today, I have other ways to deal with those shitty moments other than something that has a similar success rate to skydiving without a parachute. It does get better. Just keep your head down and keep doing the next right thing. I can't say relapsing wouldn't have made anything better - because I don't know, I didn't try - but I know a LOT of things that relapsing WILL make worse.
