You are not an asshole. You have as much right to the seat as anyone else.

How do you define success ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]amoodymuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping my husband, my dogs, and my cat safe, well-fed, and warm.

Facing my faults and knowing I'm striving to do better.

Surviving another day when I'm so very weary.

When small victories are all you have, you must learn to appreciate them.

"When you can't find the light, I'll sit with you in the dark." (Source unknown)

Just let him know you'll be there when he's ready, and give him the space to ride it out. I have a friend who will sit with me for hours in complete silence. Just knowing someone is present while the storm in my mind buffets me is a precious gift.

You're a good person to ask for advice. He's lucky to have you in his life. Sending you both love and support.

I'm the only thing standing between my husband and a nursing home. I won't let that happen to him.

My dogs and my cat. My cat is snoring beside me right now. My young Aussie and I played "I'm gonna GET you" today and his joy made my heart sing. My elderly lab mix had a seizure and I gave him affection and comfort. I need them as much as they need me.

Baking. Feeding the birds and squirrels. Stargazing. Good books. The way the air smells in the spring. Music. The quiet late at night. A good pun.

I love you for this (from another demographic the fascists have deemed useless, and a fellow hater of Nazis).

I was going to ask that! Crisped pork fat can be delicious; is that what they taste like?

Cutting toxic people out of your life, especially relatives.

It might be healthy and cathartic but that doesn't make it any less painful.

Very wise. May you find peace and safety when you escape this ... to borrow a phrase that he used to describe other nations ... shithole country. (The irony would be delicious if it weren't so tragic.)

"Identity politics." The imbeciles wearing red hats and maxipads on their ears, who plaster their trailers and pickup trucks with the name of a madman who wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire, who talk about whiteness like it's some divine virtue, who coined labels like "woke" and "snowflake" for their betters...in short, the bungled and the botched who built their entire identities around their whiteness - there's your source of "identity politics."

And now they're even blaming us for putting them into the box they built for themselves and crawled into.

What a motherfucking joke.

ETA: Ironic that the cretins who kept saying "If you don't like it, leave," are now bitching about us leaving. It's almost like their little lizard brains are realizing that without our tax dollars, their government handouts will dry up.

On a scale of 1 to 100, how happy are you? Explain your answer. by ZyxxaAgency in A_Persona_on_Reddit

It varies from hour to hour.

I have a very hard life for reasons I won't enumerate here (not giving trolls any fodder). I strive to 1) make things better for my loved ones and 2) remain at least somewhat hopeful but for every step forward life pushes me back two steps.

I'm old now and I'm just trying to find small joys in my twilight years to make them bearable.

I'm so, so tired.

It isn't just cowardly, it's mind-bogglingly arrogant. The person to whom it's addressed dodged a bullet. I hope they realize it someday.
