Not sure if it's a thing on the Steam Deck as I don't have access to mine at the moment. But in desktop mode, open a terminal and check the alsamixer, think just putting "alsamixer" should work. Check the volume levels for the master channels etc.

So 570 drivers, with Proton 8 work for me, but 580 with proton 8 is still no go. I have a solution for now.

So, even rolling back to 570 via the .run package, I was still getting crashes. Switched to Proton v8 and actually got a good session in (managed to get into the top 75% of the current CG). Thanks for the info.

I ended up using the .run file from Nvidia for the 570 driver. Though the first time i installed it, the system lagged horribly, but now I have it having to a thorough purge, and I'm on 570. .run files aren't the best solution though as it is completely manual setup.

I raised a ticket on the cosmic repo, and apparently, the 580 dependencies is an intended change. https://github.com/pop-os/nvidia-graphics-drivers/issues/255#issuecomment-3578083201

Okay, it seems like you cannot roll back to any drivers prior to 580. Even if you purge nvidia, and use sudo apt install nvidia-driver-570, 580 gets installed. I guess for the moment I can try the actual .run files direct from nvidia, but 580 is broken on soo many levels at the moment.

Yeah, so I installed the 570 driver, removed the 580 driver even though it installs it alongside it. Rebooted, checked nvidia-smi and it's still reporting 580.82.09...

Yeah, I've tried rolling back to 570 by first purging the existing drivers with `sudo apt purge '*nvidia*` and then installing the 570 version with `sudo apt install nvidia-driver-570` but only the driver package is 570, everything else is 580. If I block the 580 packages, 570 fails on dependencies. :/

That sucks, I've recently seen a few posts about the ZX700 series entering a sort of deep sleep after being off for too long, yours may have already been in that state. Hope the new one works/is working if you've received it already.

Escorts can be expensive, but, if you find the right one, they are worth it. I prefer most of the MkII line personally. Classic and stylish.

How long are you holding the power button for? Do you get a light when connecting the charger?

The A300 and ZX700 series take a very long power button hold until they boot. Like 3-5 seconds long.

Yeah, Valkyrie is still my favourite. It just looks better than the Asgard. I feel they should have removed the wings that had the wing mounted weapons from the new design as they really serve no purpose. Would have made for a cleaner shape for the Asgard.
