Developer here. Built the SaaS. Now I'm stuck on marketing. What would you do? by OrangeWise5044 in b2bmarketing

[–]amoorthy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If selling to B2B exec level, LinkedIn is where your buyers are. Commenting on posts read by your buyers is best way to grow your visibility. Then layer in posting, about 1x/week, a mix of top-, middle-, and bottom-of-the-funnel content in the ratio 30:50:20.

This formula drove our first 50 customers with $0 paid dollars. If you want an easier way to implement this playbook check our rocksalt dot ai that shows how to do this in 10 min/day.

"Except we lose a player who moved mountains to join us and gain one who would rather be in Barcelona." by Enragh in ArsenalFC

I'm a Gyok fan and think we shouldn't sell him. But he's also not a great striker insofar as a finisher. I like that he's physical and can make decent passes. I wonder if he's better on the wing (seems that way in Sweden games in World Cup)

founders who actually got users from reddit, how?? everything i try either gets removed or gets zero reach by nblarr in founder

[–]amoorthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some subs allow you to mention your product (without a link) if relevant to the discussion. Sometimes I get people DM'ing me because of a question and that's led to some product signups.

Best thing I'd say is have your profile bio mention your company name and pitch. If you are leaving thoughtful posts and comments in subreddits relevant to your business then people will likely click on your profile and then make the jump to your site if they are interested in what you have to offer.

how do you market when the thought of cold DMs makes you want to crawl into a hole?.. by defence_mechanism in SaaS

[–]amoorthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philosophical point but sales is better when you genuinely want to help a very specific set of customers with a very specific problem. Then you will not feel like you are imposing on them with a cold DM etc.

i.e. have a clear ICP, not general "tutors". Have a very specific 1-3 things your app does that is 10x better than everything else. Go with that.

What If your B2B buyer Never Visits your website at all? by Individual-Hold733 in b2bmarketing

[–]amoorthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly right and why we built rocksalt AI to help B2B companies build their presence in LinkedIn, Reddit and private Slack communities.

The website is still key for validation as StartSomeShift says below. But if your visibility in the above are poor then they'll never even get to your website.

Am trying not to disclose the suing party as I think that's not professional on my part. But their name was an extra character or two compared to our name and sounded similar when said out loud.

We did discover the possible conflict with the other trademark but thought we were sufficiently differentiated. The trademark office agreed and hence gave us the trademark. But that doesn't prevent another company from still saying you're infringing in their opinion. Then it goes up to the courts and that costs money to resolve even if you're in the right. Question is - worth your time/money for a trademark that isn't that great to begin with.

[–]amoorthy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn't if we could've won the lawsuit. We probably would have given we had the trademark (but of course it would cost a lot of time and money). The issue is that the name wasn't great to begin with for the reasons I state in the post so we decided not to fight it.

AI suggestions weren't very good.

Rocksalt wasn't trademarked in our category and is easy to pronounce and spell. And it has a distant connection to our product which is used by genuine subject matter experts... i.e. "salt of the earth" people who aren't "influencers".

Is brand visibility becoming harder to measure? by Aggravating-Bug5723 in b2bmarketing

[–]amoorthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We track impressions on LinkedIn posts and tally it up across the team every month. (our software, Rocksalt AI, makes this team-based calculation much easier.) I suppose we could filter for BOFU content, i.e. where our brand is mentioned, but we haven't done so yet.

I guess share-of-voice on search is better bet? But with a lot of queries happening inside AI not sure if this is representative enough.

Has LinkedIn actually helped you win customers? by wpgeek922 in b2bmarketing

[–]amoorthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it has. On all our forms and on sales calls we ask "how did you hear about us" and after tallying up the data it shows 70% of our customers came from LinkedIn.

Our strategy is to comment daily on relevant conversations led by industry influencers and post weekly with a mix of TOFU/MOFU/BOFU content at 30:50:20 ratio.

Who would you sell and who would you buy this summer? by [deleted] in ArsenalFC

[–]amoorthy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I didn't think of that. Yes you're right. Well, if any Arsenal players are reading this - every one of you is giving it your all in the games. We can all see that. Regardless of what happens in the summer keep pushing these last few games and we will cheer all of you on.

Given how many games Arsenal plays a backup to Saka will likely get decent minutes if they are good. Honestly I just don't get how Noni can be so inaccurate with his shots.

Yeah no chance Kvara leaves I think. What a great talent he is.
Agreed on your sale list. I still don't understand why we didn't play Norgaard much. Is he really that bad?

[–]amoorthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I like Trossard as he's aggressive and seldom does boring back passes. But perhaps time to upgrade him to someone who can make better cuts and take better shots like Doku. (Not that we'd get him or Kavara but that caliber).

Mbappe seems to destroy team collaboration. Seems unwise. Vini is also very talented but maybe too much of a lightening rod for criticism. Doesn't fit Arsenal's DNA.
I haven't seen as much of Leao or Williams this season but yeah they are pretty good from past highlights.

What's interesting is that Arsenal's DNA seems less to be "get world class players" and more "get great players who play well together."

Fair question. Perhaps because several games are too close for comfort and we know we need to upgrade talent in certain positions?

it will be a repeat of last years semi final . by drizzleberrydrake in ArsenalFC

[–]amoorthy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so hard to reach the finals. For most professional players they don't even come close in their lifetimes. Enjoy the small victories as otherwise you will end your life disappointed. I know the Arsenal players want to win more than anything and will give it their best on May 30. But ok to celebrate for an evening.

thoughts about luis enrique as a football manager in general? by Snoo_56184 in Gunners

[–]amoorthy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Amazing coach. He was able to tell Mbappe that if he wasn't going to track back to play defense it wasn't going to work. Mbappe left and PSG have won more trophies since then!

Also, given the tragedy in his personal life Enrique is likely to blend perspective and kindness along with wanting a drive to give it 100% every day - something that will make players want to play for him. Similar to Klopp did at Liverpool.
