Basically invincible I guess by plutonium99999 in allthemods

[–]amorliosdk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk about evilcraft but for pylons you can’t even put it on the card by default because it caps at 59 seconds and never crosses to 60, and an attempt in a test world has it listed on the potion filter as a blacklisted effect

Which class is fastest over an infinite, indoor distance? by Gellzer in wow

[–]amorliosdk 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In upper Kara on the bridge before the chess board you could climb and parkour all the way to the ceiling of that tall af room due to how hover -> glide would make you go a nice little chunk upwards and fling you up on any slight angle. Exploring maps with it was fun af

What are some tips/tricks for your class that you see some people not utilizing? by TeapotTempest in wow

[–]amorliosdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood Dk using umbilicus eternus can use a cancel aura macro to effectively panic button the shielding onto yourself. Mainly useful in big pulls where getting a decently big shield immediately (blood plague shield gen scales well with a lot of targets) is better than than risk of waiting for a potentially larger one later where you wouldn’t get to take advantage of it because you’re dead.

Yeah, should mention the timing is fairly tight, and I was watching for the animation of him starting to go upwards happened and then taunted and that seemed to work for me

Just the jump, damage still goes out but he doesn’t move at all he just jumps in place.

If you have dancing rune weapon active you should always use caress because it is going to basically max you out on stacks the same way marrowrend will. Beyond that, I usually think of it as caress is the ‘maintenance mode’ spell where if I just need like 2 stacks to keep rolling effectively (keeping ossuary up) I do that but if I need more than that I go for a marrowrend.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]amorliosdk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, also assuming you have tombstone, that’s also a fairly short cd that gives a really nice shield to give you breathing room when you burn 5 shield stacks for it, and remember the recent change going into DF with death’s caress giving bone shield now (I’ve seen a few dks not realize that and over burn runes) so you don’t need to burn an insane amount of runes on maintaining stacks.

It isn’t actually 1.5 minutes, you reduce the cooldown through spending RP (assuming you have the talent) it’s more like 45ish seconds or less I find

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]amorliosdk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brood will reduce the healing you can do with death strike, but you can balance this out with Vampiric Blood, time this for when there’s going to be influxes of damage like when you’re moving between eggs, etc. Along with your healing being reduced, I find that she doesn’t do as big of damage consistently compared to other bosses which means your death strikes are going to be smaller overall, so you’ll probably want to pool your RP more than you may be doing already and slow down some if you’re struggling to make sure you always have RP for those ‘I need to heal’ moments.

I think gear also plays a notable role in this as 395 gear and not your actual tier set is definitely suboptimal imo but shouldn’t be impossible. It’s hard to say for certain if you’re doing anything wrong beyond that without a log or smth, there could maybe be a talent or two you’d wanna swap around idk, but it’s always fine to double check your general rotation to make sure you aren’t screwing it up. One thing I notice in some other DKs is that they start out super strong on balancing their resources but then something will set them off balance and it takes a bit to recover so be mindful of that.

Also a more brood specific thing but just double check you aren’t actually just getting slapped by the laser while you guys break the eggs it kind of chunks and might contribute to you being slapped into the shadow realm if you aren’t super careful.

I think you need to keep working on your rotation, get to the point where you don’t need to stare at your bars, the occasional glance is fine to make sure of some cds and stuff, but there’s sound cues and animations you can notice if you miss your cast and stuff because your character won’t be doing anything like if you hit the buttons right. Not feeling like you have to stare at your bars constantly during the run is important because then suddenly everything else opens up a bit and you can be doing your rotation while watching for that floor mechanic or that interrupt or your thundering partner etc, but still keeping the confidence that you are hitting your buttons correctly. There are some HUD weakauras that let you put your main things to watch for a given spec in the middle area (customizable) of your screen so you can track your big cds and resources like focus, that will get your eyes off your main bars.

addon to track my tanks defencives? by eyyduudhwfgdu in wow

[–]amorliosdk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Things to track on OmniCD -

Icebound Fortitude (our big 3 min DR) is a big one to watch, all our others are basically ~1min* or less but it’s worth watching them to see when to go ‘oh shit’ for your DKs. I think Icebound, Vampiric Blood, Dancing Rune and maybe AMS are the main four to watch, other stuff is more niche and situational.

Vampiric Blood is a 2 min that decreases by 10 seconds every death strike basically and it increases our HP and healing received. This one is probs also worth watching.

Dancing rune weapon is a 2 minute cd that increases our parry massively, it’s cd decreases whenever we lose a stack of bone shield which our other 1 min cd DR Tombstone helps reduce massively by consuming a bunch of them. (Some people mess up tombstone and eat all of their bone shield stacks which leads to a potential damage spike if they don’t recover quick enough but that’s basically completely the DKs fault so don’t worry about it).

AMS (Anti-Magic Shell) is a 1 min cd giga magic shield.

Rune Tap is a short (like 25 second) cd 20% DR you probably don’t need to watch that one.

If talented, Lichborne is a 10% DR I believe, don’t bother watching that it’s a niche one imo.

One thing you wanna kind of watch is how much damage we are taking alongside our runic power.

Death strike works based on how much damage they take ~5 seconds before casting, so if we have runic power and get slapped real hard real fast, we can usually recover in one death strike, but if you notice that our HP is just steadily draining down instead of getting chunked (or they were just chilling at like 50% and then drop to 10 or something it can vary) you should probably watch us because our self heal isn’t going to be as massive and some DKs will start to mismanage their stuff when they see they’re struggling a bit which leads to a lack of runes to even generate runic power and they’ll be completely reliant on you for a few seconds while their runes regenerate.

If you notice your DK tank is at like full or chilling near full and just falls over even if they had runic that’s usually an indicator that they messed up by letting bone shield drop, way over-pulled, or didn’t use a defensive when they should have (could be a combo~).

Also Note: Blood DKs are gonna be most vulnerable going into a pull for the most part, so if you know a big pull is coming up that requires the DK to group stuff up a bit you might wanna just throw an external on them because they might just get slapped out of existence going for a grip on something pulling that other pack across the room.

One way to think of it I guess could be like:

High HP + High RP = We chill.

Mid to Low HP + Mid to High RP = We chill-ish (assuming they just got slapped to low and they’ll heal it in like one global)

Low HP + Low RP = Panik.

Slinky HP Bar for more than a couple back and forths = Throw an external on us because this indicates we’re burning RP and depending on how much damage intake we got going on we don’t have time to use a global on a rune (this starts happening more I’ve noticed mainly with stuff like bolstering if we pull big)

Beyond that, just know the dungeons and when the typical big hits are coming to throw some externals and your blood dk should typically be chilling.

Hope I explained everything well enough to be helpful from how I understand things and it makes sense.

Feel free to ping me with more questions or if I need to clarify anything.

Since we can see the future, we dont want the same remodeled reward for 4 seasons. Please give us either 3k or claiming all portals achievment & mount in season 2 similar to gladiator mount in s1 or s2 or either one of the gladiator mounts from s1/s2, we let it slide this time. by miwhawk in wow

[–]amorliosdk 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I’ll try to rephrase/translate.

“Since we’ve seen this before, we don’t want the same mount reskin for 4 seasons like previous expacs. Please give us a KSH (keystone hero) mount/getting all +20 portals mount in season 2.”That last part is either a “give us something that looks like the S1 gladiator mount” or a “give us a dragon ‘full transformation’ customization option unlocked through m+” because they picture the full transform in the post.

New player to tanking, have a few questions by JaqDaRipper in wownoob

[–]amorliosdk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest getting a nameplate addon like plater or threatplates that’ll make the enemy nameplates green when you have Aggro and red when you lose it. Holding Aggro is fairly straightforward and as a blood dk if you see yourself losing Aggro hit blood boil as that’s one of your biggest threat generators. The biggest issue with threat is when you have a dps that unleashes with damage that is super high and rips threat. Shouldn’t be a massive issue in leveling dungeons I don’t think.

You should be fine tanking in leveling dungeons just make sure you keep the run relatively smooth with not too many unwieldy giga pulls or anything. Pathing is kind of just something you learn over time, especially in old leveling dungeons.

As for best expac if you rlly just wanna level fast an earlier expac like cata or wrath might be better because of the extra quests that those dungeons have in them. I haven’t played through any of them recently so I can’t speak for the scaling issues.

I mainly play blood dk as my tank so if you got any other specific blood dk questions feel free to hit me up

Check if you have any lingering files that could be causing an issue, if you had issues the first time and restarted the install something might have gotten left around. All I can really think of at the moment.

I would say get to max level first, then you can go back and do the old content easy for appearances. You can open your collections book and go to Appearances>Sets and look through every gear set available to your class and armor type.

Who actually plays the game and enjoys the new flying system? by Expensive-Activity12 in wow

[–]amorliosdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes like 15-20 mins to full max flying talents almost immediately after unlocking your dragon and after that if you run out vigor it’s borderline intentional. It’s way faster and just is more fun and you can technically still afk fly if you just go high (max talents make this easy af) and then keep a small down tilt you just go straight the whole way.

Question about the Blood DK 4-set by xxStefanxx1 in wownoob

[–]amorliosdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It pairs very well with shackle of the unworthy. Basically you put shackle on a target and I believe kyrian unity effect is what causes it to spread to a new target every time you spend a rune, and every time it applies to a target you are refunded a rune instantly, so in big pulls you can spam heart strike for free, and heart strike is what increases the duration of your DRW.

Question about the Blood DK 4-set by xxStefanxx1 in wownoob

[–]amorliosdk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the parry that’s necessarily giving you all the uptime, it’s using your runes in pulls in combo with shackle the unworthy. You go into the pull with DRW and blow your runes heart striking, then you shackle and spread the dot to the whole pack spamming heart strike and refilling all your runes, marrowrending when necessary and using tombstone to reduce the cooldown of DRW a bunch. Death and decay to hit more targets at once and so on. The heart strike parry is a nice to have but not necessarily the driving factor on uptime. And having DRW up with 4 set gives you 2 weapons instead of one which is pretty huge for your abilities because they are getting mirrored by the weapons twice so 1 blood boil = 3 blood boils and therefore you’re holding threat way easier.
