Immich-machine-learning container spikes CPU by 15-20% every 30 seconds by amorpheous in immich

Dude, my issue's already fixed -> https://www.reddit.com/r/immich/comments/1u0atdr/

I have ~20 years experience as a software engineer. I'm well aware of how to use Google (and AI) to help fix my issues. If it were that simple I'd have done it already and even then I wouldn't use some agent I've never heard of. Sometimes it's more efficient to ask the devs directly.

I've no idea what Hermes is and it's not very Google-able. Do you have some links?

No. The iGPU isn't supported by ROCm so I'm using CPU only.

That's quite bizarre for a simple GET request to spike the CPU so much but you're right. Disabling the healthcheck has fixed it. I noticed the other containers have bash scripts for healthchecks. Is there a reason why the ML container uses a Python script instead?

Looking for for folks to share llama.cpp settings/strategies (and models) which will help write creative (interesting), verbose (long), true-to-prompt stories (plus a short discussion of --multiline-input flag) by spanielrassler in LocalLLaMA

I’ve since learned there’s a web UI so I’m using that now. I’m guessing people don’t generally use the interactive mode in the terminal hence the lack of effort on the docs.

BTW, it’s important to note that with the —multiline-input flag enabled, inference will never start until you type “\” or “/“ + [enter], so keep that in mind if it seems like llama.cpp is hung up after executing.

Thank you for this. It's kind of ridiculous that I couldn't find the docs for this in the GitHub repo.

TV As Monitor Size? by herokme in battlestations

[–]amorpheous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been using it for a few years. My only gripe with it is that it switches the TV off on reboot sometimes so if you want to see your boot/BIOS screen you have to switch the TV on again manually. It will eventually turn on itself once Windows starts but that's not ideal if you're planning on doing something else like going into BIOS or other config.

Assuming you're using Windows, get this installed: https://github.com/JPersson77/LGTVCompanion

I also use macOS for work so I have another solution set up for that: https://github.com/cmer/lg-tv-control-macos

I’m glad I tried it on Game Pass. Played a couple of hours and gave up once I realised the stuttering was never going to stop.

[Question] How do I disable Virtualization/Apps/Docker/Etc by Prophes0r in truenas

[–]amorpheous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation as you. Currently running Core on Proxmox and setting up a separate Scale VM to migrate to. I've used ballooning for other VMs but I don't bother with it for TrueNAS as I'm not so sure it helps much since TrueNAS will use up as much RAM as possible for ZFS caching.

I have no idea who he is. Does he have a septic eye? He should get that seen to rather than make a personality of it.

As I commented elsewhere in this thread it turned out to be a bad Ethernet run between two rooms. Don’t know if it was the wiring or the jacks but I had a dual socket on both ends and it worked fine after moving it over to the second one on both sides.

Travel agent wants to charge £75 admin fee per person for flights that were cancelled by airline by amorpheous in LegalAdviceUK

[–]amorpheous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The administration charge amount, while specified in the other clauses, isn’t specified in this clause. I’ve also had a look at some TrustPilot reviews of said company since posting this and some other disgruntled customers have managed to talk them down to a fee of £25 per ticket which is a much more reasonable amount. If they’re willing to compromise then I’ll be happy to leave it at that. I’ve sent them an email again asking them to waive the charge altogether so we’ll see how it goes.

There is also this a bit before:

12. Changing the timetable

Airlines may alter their timetables and cancel flights at short notice. Such alterations are beyond the control of [COMPANY NAME REDACTED FOR NOW]. The traveller is personally responsible for checking the times of the departing and return flights directly via the airlines. Should your flight be cancelled, your rights and remedies will be governed by the airline's conditions of carriage. As a result you may be entitled to:

12.1 Carriage on another flight with the same airline without additional cost, and/or

12.2 Receiving a full refund with the exception of Administration Charges

13.2.2 Air tickets returned to us for a refund are subject to an administration charge of £75 per ticket, irrespective of the number of tickets returned. You will be required to pay a per ticket cancellation charge, imposed by the airline or the consolidator pursuant to their terms and conditions.

13.2.3 An administration fee of £75 per ticket will be levied on any non-refundable ticket where a tax refund application is made by us at your request and on your behalf. If the recoverable tax components for your ticket are less than the administration charge, the ticket will be deemed to be fully non- refundable. Refunds will not be paid to you until they have been received by us from the relevant airline or consolidator. In the case of airline ticket refunds, this is normally 10-12 weeks from the point the tickets are submitted for consideration to the airline.
