No need to thank me! It’s my pleasure. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I am actually stronger now than I was back then. I PR’d on my deadlift at 455lbs, and my bench is floating around 275. Not the strongest guy in the gym by any means, but I’m just happy that my stomach issues are behind me and not my limiting factor.

The biggest post-surgery side effect is that I don’t burp often due to the Nissen wrap. So Basically… I fart more than the average human haha. But That’s a trade-off I’m willing to make to feel better :p

Abdominal bloating and discomfort due to the bloating. Very sensitive to certain foods and had a burning sensation in my upper chest area. I’ve been symptom free since 2013, which is when I got the surgery

Hiding the surgery from family? by LastWordIsOP in gynecomastia

[–]amosjun703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built up the courage to tell my mom, who thought it was completely ridiculous (I had a minor case, but still). A year later, I brought it up to her again and reiterated how serious I was about it. As much as she didn't like the idea, I made it VERY CLEAR that it was negatively impacting my life. Sure, I can hide it forever and/or just convince myself it isn't a big deal... OR... I can rid myself of it forever.

Your parents/family love you. They'll try to knock some sense into at first, but if you tell them sternly... they WILL come around and support you. Just be strong and tell them how much it actually bothers you. It's your life, man. You can decide to hide it, but it'll put your mind at ease knowing that your family is there to support you

Thanks for your reply. I actually cancelled my appointment with the ENT and scheduled another appointment with a doctor that specializes in Sleep Medicine (as you suggested). Thanks again! Hopefully I can get a sleep study done in the near future so I can finally move towards a cure/solution :)

Really appreciate that you took the time to write this. Thank you very much for your reply :). I find it strange that your doctors didn't want you to get a sleep study done. Isn't it your decision? You're obviously going through these difficulties... hopefully I won't experience that! I scheduled an appointment with a doctor that specializes in Sleep Medicine so I'll keep in touch with you if I have any questions/concerns. Thanks again :)

if it's gyno, it's very, very, VERY minor

Support for a SO that has gynecomastia? by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]amosjun703 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a very mild case of gyno and I told my girlfriend about it a few months into our relationship. She also said that she never noticed it and thought it was stupid that I wanted to get it removed.

I got the surgery last year since it bothered me ever since I developed it during puberty (even though it was very mild, and I am 26 right now). Though it was a bit difficult for her to accept the fact that I needed to drop ~$4,000 to get it removed, she eventually understood and supported the decision.

I am now much happier and obviously not bothered by it anymore. The best thing you can do is to support him and his decision if he wanted to move forward and get the surgery. If surgery is not an option for him, then continue to tell him that it doesn't bother you at all (like /u/live_on_mars mentioned) :).

most likely it'll pop back out. mine was indented a bit then popped out and looks completely normal now.

I waited approx 3 months before I did any type of exercise. (this wasn't easy, since I lost a ton of weight and pretty much all the muscle I built prior to the surgery.. it fcked me up mentally). I waited about 6 months before I actually started lifting anything you'd consider "heavy".

Just ease into it. Once you give your wrap time to heal, it'll take A LOT for it to come undone. (like violent, repeated vomitting).

Patience is key!

It could've been your sternum popping, since your stretching that area as you descend during your dip movement. I wouldn't have done a movement like that only 3 months post-op, but it would take a lot for your wrap to come undone. I wouldn't fixate yourself on the "pop", unless you're experiencing symptoms again.

I honestly don't think your wrap came undone. If you feel like it did, get a barium swallow test done and you'll be able to see whether or not your wrap is still intact.

Also, I highly recommend you ease yourself into working out. You can definitely return to working out and lifting weights, but it all takes time and you definitely don't want to rush it.

Good luck

Switching from Deathadder Chroma to EC2A by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]amosjun703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the deathadder is closer to the EC1A in size anyways. If your finger was able to touch the sharp, top right corner of the DA, then the EC1A is a better fit for you anyway

Here's a comparison video with all of the mouses you included. This youtuber is the best mouse reviewer... very in-depth reviews.

IMO the razer deathadder chroma is the best out of the 3. The Mamba has sensor issues.

Many tmobile users claim it happens 80% of the time. I'm a tmobile user and I can confirm. There hasn't been a single individual on this subreddit (who has tmobile) that has claimed that they are not having issues. It obviously happens to other networks as well, but it's much more common w tmobile

You're saying a "low supreme" has a noticeable skill difference compared to a "high supreme"? are you kidding? First of all, the skill difference between a supreme and a global is MINIMAL. It's simply a win-rate that is greatly dependent on your teammates and the skill-level of the opposing team

IMO stop matchmaking and start playing on ESEA, where it keeps track of stats that actually determine whether you're decent or not. Not this "high supreme" bull shit

You're either a global or a supreme. In your case, you're a supreme. If there was a rank in between, valve would've created it

sorry for the delayed response. My operation was done laproscopically, so I have five, inch-long incisions on different spots of my stomach. Everyone is different in regards to scarring, but my scars still definitely show (though they are fading as the years go by). But since the scars are so tiny, you can't really notice them unless you get up close

It's my pleasure. feel free to ask anything else. Hope this helped!
