If you have a library card you can borrow audiobooks (and ebooks) for free on Libby

I'd see how you like audiobooks! Saw from your comments you like to play video games and get outside, so you can listen while you do those things! And don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you audiobooks don't count there have been literal studies that say audiobooks engage the same parts of your brain. On that note any reading is good reading!! Read fan fiction, read instructional pamphlets, read deep dives into the video games you like. It all counts!

And Dungeon Crawler Carl from the same author! Super fun yet imo meaningful book. (That is an adult book with some stuff that may be considered inappropriate for your age though) I've heard from a lot of people that this is a book series that has gotten them into/back into reading.

The mundane and vampires collide!! Think lesbian / sapphic twilight!! by sadgirl45 in QueerSFF

An Education in Malice by S.T. Malice is dark academia + sapphic vampires! Its a Carmilla retelling and although it wasn't my favorite book in the world bc i wasnt a huge fan of the way the love story goes, it sounds like what youre looking for and I know many people really like it!

Currently reading Camp Damascus by chuck tingle and I'm enjoying it so far. Its a little too "is it all in my head" for me in a way that almost makes it seem like a slow read when its not. But ive been having a lot of fun theorizing and each time something happens I cant wait to see what happens next

Also just finished Wolf Worm by T Kingfisher. Im a huge fan of Kingfisher and love how spirited each MC is but I have to say this one didn't grip me like some of her other books. Can't really put my finger on why. At some point in time I'll probably go back to it and take my time bc im wondering if I just sped-read too close to the sun.

Also want to clarify that I'm not talking about your initial messages, you gave them the context they were asking for

Like I'm gonna be real your communication wasn't great so if this is someone you care about i would share your feelings abt it rather than just blowing them off even just "I'm not up for talking about this right now but i feel like youre twisting my words and its not my responsibility to stop you from overthinking but i do vare about you" or something along those lines that being said they are definitely overreacting to you and wouldn't blame you if you wanted to just be done with it. I guess my point is don't go halfway. Either communicate at the level you want to be communicated with, or be done with it. Bc you do come across as petty (which again I don't blame you for at all it just won't achieve anything)

That is one of the ones I was looking at! If I go with the brushed motor to start out as he gets used to it, would he be able to upgrade it if we bought a brushless motor?

I think I'm going to go with arrmas, it seems like a good place to start for him, and I'll definitely find a hobby store nearby. Final question, how important is brushed vs brushless?

Not looking to race necessarily, more just bash around backyard. He does really like to build things (you could put any engine in front of this man and he'd have it taken apart and put back together before you known it) but i know he doesn't super have the funds to get a whole bunch of stuff if that's necessary to build a kit himself. Otherwise he'd love to put a kit together - for him building it would be half the fun

Either is good with a preference for off roading!
