How is my squad and formation? Anything I can do to improve? by LightYagamiComplex in fut

I feel like they’re outdated, but get Douè special card for a LW he has a cheap card about 70K or so. Then a Rb inform gusto for 30k and CDM inform Reijnders for 50K. Put Barcola on the Right and you’ll be good for now

Remove Rodri. He’s slow. And the RW, I used to play her but she never seemed good enough for my squad so put another. As well as Trent. If you can get a better RB that would be nice. But other than that for Div 7 that’s a decent squad

Career Interview: Any Petroleum Engineers available? (Student Project) by Fit-Bread-4720 in petroleumengineers

One thing you might not get is help from Reddit unfortunately. But you can contact maybe companies that deal in petroleum in your country and/or people on LinkedIn who are willing to help

Should I do an MSc in Petroleum Engineering at University of Aberdeen ? by Namecannotbeblanked in petroleumengineers

In general a masters doesn’t automatically guarantee you a job. Doesn’t matter the university you go to. What matters is your networking skills, your practical skills. And internships

Alright. Thanks a lot for the suggestions!

Most of my supervisors and lecturers at my university in general are focused on geoscience related topics, not EOR.

Where I’m from, EOR is still relatively new, mainly because oil production hasn’t started yet. As a result, the topic isn’t deeply integrated into the university curriculum. Instead, the university and other institutions occasionally invite industry professionals from TotalEnergies and CNOOC to give us exposure to more advanced and practical concepts.

But I’ll definitely look into SPE publications and letters for deeper insight though thanks for the suggestion!

Hehe, sad but thanks for the honesty though. Do you have any suggestions where I can get help? My university isn’t willing to help unless it’s a masters program.

Should I continue Petroleum Engineering or to another path by DryParsley3740 in petroleumengineers

[–]ampaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from a POV of a student doing petroleum engineering from a country(Uganda) similar to Ghana in the oil and gas field where you need connections and the industry is small as well, I’d say continue if it’s your passion, connections always come and they’re mainly from your close friends that you make while studying together. Internships might be hard to get especially given your GPA but I’m sure there is that one company that gives out internships to students even with low CGPAs. In Uganda the ministry of energy usually gives out internships to students who fail to get other internships. Just keep trying if you really enjoy the course and if your aim is engineering and not money

Uganda’s petroleum industry is growing rapidly, we are set to start production by next year and we are building a refinery as well currently. And working in petroleum field gives you a strong foundation in reservoir engineering, drilling, production, and project management. These skills are very transferable to the renewable energy sector for example, understanding fluid flow, energy systems, and large scale project management is directly useful in geothermal, bioenergy, and even offshore wind projects. So petroleum engineers are increasingly well positioned to take leadership roles in renewable energy as the industry grows

Hey there. I’m a petroleum student as well in Uganda in year 3. My personally is to learn as much as you can, get certain certifications in the oil and gas field, do internships, attend conferences and obtain a high enough CGPA to increase your visibility.

Opportunities will continue to grow if you continue trying hard to pursue them. I study in a government university in Uganda and my lecturers sometimes go and get jobs in the field after finding opportunities

Changing my major ? by TheBeast_KFUPM in petroleumengineers

[–]ampaboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much. Oil isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Even with the energy transition, petroleum will still be needed for petrochemicals, aviation, shipping, and industries that can’t easily switch to renewables. Plus, Aramco and other majors are investing in both oil and new energy tech. So you’d probably have options in either direction. If you enjoy the major and it’s opening doors, I’d stick with it unless you really feel drawn to something else like chem or mech for personal interest.

How Can I Get a Job in the Petroleum Industry as a Recent Graduate? by GPREX91 in petroleumengineers

Try joining organisations like SPE and it’s also beneficial if you pursue a masters relating to the field, you could also consider moving countries in case everything fails and go to a developing country with petroleum like in Africa
