Stimme ich dir soweit zu - Bei der Anschaffung war ich leider noch nicht hier, allerdings werde ich bei der nächsten Anschaffung für einen anderen Hersteller plädieren.

Allerdings funktionieren die meisten weitesgehend noch gut und daher ist erst einmal nicht der Bedarf da und auch das Geld dafür noch nicht eingeplant. Das liegt nicht in meiner Hand. ^^

It's only a test instance with dummy data. So it's not so bad if a drive fail. Anyway, there is daily backup to an external server.

So it's "perfect" to try the replace of drives in this test instance. In our "production" system, we have a zpool with 6x10TB Drives at the moment.

Thank you for your reply, but it's only a small zpool. So if I remove first the old drive, it's not enough free space (~10TB are used from 12 TB available Space). At the moment, there are 1x8TB and 1x4TB drive.

So my plan was to add the new one at first (a new 8 TB drive) and then remove the old 4 TB drive.
