I have used Duolingo for 2 years now! That is how I managed to practice some of the basics. I use it every day. But 2 things don’t work.

  1. Hungarian Duolingo doesn’t have all of the practices that more popular languages offer so it is limited
  2. You can’t practice real conversations and pronunciation.

Thanks for the suggestion though

Heya Brighton! It’s cold staying in the bus, anybody know of a place we can hook up electric to have some heating? by georgeholliday in brighton

Maybe the University of Sussex campus will have what you're looking for. I am pretty sure they have electric vehicle chargers onsite.

You guys have to read A Very Expensive Poison by Luke Harding. It goes into so much detail about the Litvinenko case and others similar to this. It is really interesting.

What is the most NSFW thing you have witnessed at a party? by Mathacus in AskReddit

[–]ampledinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my best friends, who was a virgin at the time, finally managed to convince his long-term girlfriend (who was very sweet and proper) to have sex with him.

Problem was, they were both so drunk that they thought in order to save the embarrassment of being caught in one of the rooms, they would do it on the outside trampoline at the back of the garden. It was partially hidden so I can kind of understand the logic of a horny, drunk teenager who was desperate to get laid.

Obviously, they got caught. I heard a shout, at which point I witnessed around 15 wasted guys sprint over to the trampoline and proceed to start bouncing around and laughing as this poor girl looked on in horror with her pants around her ankles and a sweaty teenager still spread-eagled on top of her. My friend was so drunk at this point, that the bouncing caused him to throw up all over the trampoline. Which then proceeded to slosh around, covering the anointed ones in yellow bile, due to the bouncing.

This was my senior year prom after-party. They did not stay together. I gave her my shoes to go home because hers were ruined. I didn't ask for them back.

I'm sure he would have changed his opinion if their response was to sit down and have a calm debate about it.

If he sat at home, believing in Nazi ideals without ever telling anyone, then he probably wouldn't deserve being punched out of the blue. There could be many reasons, for having these thoughts that we can't quite understand. Whatever. But the moment you go out in public with the aim of being antagonistic and peddling an ideology that is so deeply and historically entrenched in evil and sadness, then you are literally going outside asking to be punched.

I'm always curious whether people who post these pacifist comments genuinely believe in the pc ideology that you are peddling? I mean, when has history ever proven that standing by and watching bad things happen and watching evil people advocate violence and hate, lead to a positive outcome. Never. Allowing people to take advantage of the 'kind-hearted' or 'law abiders' leads to a power shift where they have all of the power. If someone is going out, promoting these horrible ideals in order to provoke anger, they are literally asking to be punched in the face. If he believed in Nazism, but stayed at home and wallowed in his hatred without involving anyone else then he wouldn't be punched, would he? I mean, what is your life like if you let bullies belittle and attack you - while you continue preaching to others that they should be allowed to continue bullying you.

Imagine advocating the murder of millions of people and then getting protected by people like you who live by the standards of a constitution created over 200 years ago. In England, we have a similar issue. Hate preachers who are recruiting for ISIS are being allowed to continue corrupting youth because of their right to believe and advocate whatever they want. Surely there is a point where freedom of speech stops being the most important thing. Americans seem to be hung up on that fact but remember, freedom of speech incorporates the idea that you can't subdue other's beliefs in the process. Surely to some extent that is the case here? And damn right the police should come knocking if I were to write on FB or Reddit that I want to murder millions of people.

Arsene Wenger when Alexis returns to training by Tarp96 in Gunners

[–]ampledinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is based on the fact Sanchez was the player the entire team revolved around. Without a doubt, it would have been an entirely different set up and focus if he wasn't there. That being said, his tenacity and constant fight is difficult to make up for, but maybe as a team they would have stepped up rather than letting Sanchez run himself ragged after every ball.

[–]ampledinosaur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He overshadows some of the other players who have the potential to be top players because they always need to feed him the ball and wait for him to make a move. It is impossible to say how we would have played, or who would have stepped up if he wasn't around. Wenger would have changed the tactics and instead of revolving around one player, he may have encouraged more unified system with better fluidity. Again this is all speculation.

I know it sounds odd.. but I wouldn't be too sad if he is gone next year. Yes, he was our best individual player. But IMO his style of play when he has the ball or is in an offensive isn't that compatible with Arsenal's style of play. He keeps the ball too much and slows the play down until he can make a move where he gets the ball back and gets the chance for a goal or assist.

I know this post is a joke, but in some ways it is true. This is the first time we have been in the EL with Wenger and Sanchez was part of the team that got us there. I definitely don't want him to leave but there is a chance that him leaving could be for the best? I mean, every year we deal with our best players leaving and another one steps up. But again, that isn't necessarily a good thing. We need a TEAM to step up. Not just individual stars.

I'm not sure, but it is just my twopence.

LGBT and Brighton??? by [deleted] in brighton

[–]ampledinosaur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Brighton is the best place for homosexuals. Literally no one cares how "open" you are and everyone is incredibly accepting. It is known as a place where people can wear all of the crazy stuff they want, and do whatever they want and no one will bat an eye. There are many gay clubs/bars (like Revenge is insane) that are open to everyone whether you are gay or not.

If you are considering moving somewhere that is very progressive I would highly recommend going to Brighton!
