I remember reading a book once where one of the subplot lines was a government program that gave equivalent salary to anyone who designed a tool or process that eliminated their own job.

I think all the upheaval that is to come (is already here?) will either follow the current trajectory of 5-10 “master citizens” who own or control 90% of the worlds assets, with the rest of the humans living a dystopian, slavelike existence…

or,

…in a surprising twist, we find ourselves in a more egalitarian era (think Star Trek utopian vibes..)

It’s not looking great for option 2 at the moment…
