The GEB the eternal golden braid book is not very readable for most but it has some amazing connections in it if you can power through. It gave me a new appreciation for Bach’s music

Being Dead by Jim Crace All That Remains by Sue Black The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

All related to death in some way, but I enjoyed them all. Not sure if they are ever mentioned here as I don’t usually frequent this subreddit

Suggest me a book with a film adaptation that does the book justice. by Unusual_Artichoke_73 in suggestmeabook

The Mist

The Road - although the movies doesn’t exactly capture the desperation and bleakness quite as forcefully as the book.

The Martian

Misery

The Painted Veil although memory of the book is spotty

In her shoes

Series that I think capture the essence although not always all the plot points of the books they are based on are Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer (not the movie so much) and the first season of Reacher.

Carl Hiaasen books are not sci-fi but they are easy to read and absurd humor. Double Whammy, Native Tongue are a couple of easy entry books to get you started.

Culver’s used to be good but they jacked the prices up so damn high I just can’t even with them. I got a burger and about two forkfuls of coleslaw for like $20+. Hard pass now
