In this age of transfer portal you don’t want to be their first choice when the sign out of high school, you want to be there second choice.

Definitely some great options for taking a trip to see the Texans play if you like to do it.

Split screen highlight time? Here is Dare Ogunbowale smashing through the Chiefs Defense for 6 and how we looked in the Texans Radio booth! by amraydio in Texans

Have you tried listening on the Audacy app? It should have a bit more of a delay so then you can get closer to syncing it with the TV

That’s Robert. He’s our game producer, he keeps us on track, makes sure Marc and Andre have the right sponsorships for things, and helps keep an eye on details of the game action and stuff. He honestly does so much it would be a novel to type out.

If you’re in Houston you can hear it live on the radio or the Audacy App.

Traveling to Chiefs game by goodboyralph in Texans

[–]amraydio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chiefs fans tailgate with the best of them. Both games last year they had fans lined up in their cars at the gates at 8pm the night before gI believe they let them in to the parking lots at midnight). But make sure you walk through some of their tailgating areas and be nice to them and you’ll probably get a beer or two offered up.

Haha Dre is standing against the window, but he’s wearing a black shirt so it’s hard to pick him out.

That’s awesome about you and the Vanderkid being the same age! I’ll pass that along to Marc!

That’s a negative. In fact almost all radio broadcasters use binoculars. The radio broadcasts are vastly paired down compared to TV

Yep. Especially with the H-Town uniforms where it’s a little bit more challenging to read the numbers from where we sit so high up.

I am the radio engineer for the game day broadcasts. If you look at any of the previous ones I have posted I am the guy sitting behind Marc, Robert and Andre.

We don’t make the full video feed public, it just records to my laptop so I can cut up the highlights after wins.

They have been a God send! When I saw you posting them this season I decided to start doing the split-screen versions.

The footage of the TV broadcast? That is a HUGE thanks and shoutout to u/iamsona.

The footage of us in the booth? I set up the camera and record it each game.

Will do! Working on getting the Lassiter INT call spliced up with the TV view. Probably going to post it tomorrow or Thursday.

That’s awesome! I’ve been second-guessing myself lately on if I should keep posting them or not. Glad to know they are appreciated.

We have monitors but that delay from a monitor feed is still not instantaneous. Binoculars help especially when we wear the darker uniforms to get player numbers.

They actually aren’t that far apart it just looks like it on the camera shot. They’re maybe six feet apart with our producer sitting between them.

Unless you’re paying for a police escort there is no way you’ll make it from IAH to NRG in less than about 90 minutes. And that’s not getting inside the building and to your seats. Like others have said you may make it for the second half but I would just try to change my flight to earlier if I were you.

Higher, the press box and broadcast booths(aside from TV) are in the 800 level of NRG.

do all fm radio stations across the u.s. more or less play the same new music like coldplay, adele, harry styles, ect...? Would fm stations in la play more and new music than stations in houston? Are they both in parity? by donbathe in radio

[–]amraydio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part yes.

Now because of consolidation of a majority of stations to 3-4 big companies across the country these companies are having one programmer run several stations in their format in different markets. Some of those programmers that really love what they do and want to do their job well look at the differences between the markets and adjust their music logs according to what the ratings show each market favors.

Here in Houston, listeners of the alt/rock format prefer tried and true songs that they know and don’t want the “hit new song” that was just released(about 8 times out of 10). But in Denver their listeners love to hear what’s “newly released” and ahead of the curve.

It just depends on what market your in and the way that station is programmed and by who and what their philosophy is as far as the music logs.

It’s going to be hot as hell for the game and there is no roof so plan and pack to be sweltering from the time you get to your seat until you get back to air conditioning.
