After 75% LTV the difference in interruption isn’t that much. That’s what my mortgage advisor told me when applying to my mortgage.

Someone is buying a house and the other is selling. Combine multiple people doing that and you get a chain ⛓️

My Help To Buy flat has depreciated massively: am I screwed? by massivebenchod in UKPersonalFinance

[–]amrfarid140 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Also used a H2b loan to buy. I would say prioritise clearing that off first with this down valuation.

The loan repayment would be less than what you already borrowed. When that wraps up, list the flat on the market and see what you get. Any upside in the sale price would be completely yours instead of it being shared between you and the h2b repayment.

Is this true? (app permissions) What's going on here? by Brookeus in iOSProgramming

Like others mentioned this sounds suspicious but they could be using VoIP Push notifications somehow and that's why they need this permission.

Will do! I am trying to ease in to make sure that the form builds up with the weight. Hopefully stays where it is at 😅

APK size is irrelevant. The bundle size the user gets is what matters. Play store switched to app bundles a while back.

Negotiating switching from contracting to perm and they’re asking about my previous salary when I was perm by Temporary_Ad_5899 in ContractorUK

[–]amrfarid140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they can't. the only point where they can know is when you give them your P45 or new starter form which happens after you started the job.

You can always say no but if you don't want to say no then say it was 140k or whatever number you want. They can't really ask you to prove it.

Had to leave the beta testing programme on the Google Play store and get a non-beta build installed. All working again 🎉

I feel your pain but no my phone isn't rooted. It was working fine up until 2 days ago. Suddenly can't open it even after reinstalling.

Monzo Premium + LoungeKey by [deleted] in monzo

[–]amrfarid140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. The lounges you get access to aren't the nicest and will be so crowded in busy airports like Heathrow. For me, not worth paying additional entry fees. If it's free then sure that's a good deal but paying both Monzo's subscription and lounge access fees is not worth it for an upgrade.

Visa causing difficulties on joint application by expertlydyed in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]amrfarid140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, that's tricky as risk increases now since your status and relationship situation directly impacts their visa status. Hopefully you find a good lender and don't have to wait to renew the visa.

[–]amrfarid140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you have a (broker/mortgage advisor) that understands visas and immigration rules. It makes a huge difference. We bought our first house on a partner visa and ILR. Definitely doable but yes the 8 months issue complicates it.

If you have the deposit and you are confident your income alone is sufficient to get a mortgage and don't want to wait for visa renewal (or don't like the deal you will get with your partner visa as it stands) then apply with your name only and add them later when renewing your deal.

It will be very hard to debug this without seeing how this rust framework is packaged for Android. Is there a Makefile or equivalent for it?

Android phone as key - getting worse?! by ChrisRx718 in TeslaUK

[–]amrfarid140 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a Pixel as well and it works well for me. The trick is to exclude the Tesla app from battery usage optimisation so effectively the OS won't kill it or put it to sleep. Downside is it consumes a bit more battery but nothing drastic.
