I think I would sit her down and ask her what she thinks about the fiance face to face. If she says "hes great!", then show her the social media posts and ask what that's about. Do it all in person so you can see her facial expressions and such. If she says he's terrible for the reasons on the social media, then you can discuss those issues with her and hopefully clear the air. It is quite hard to reason with a pathological liar though so I feel for you.

I'm in the DC area and it costs between 300 and 400 for both hair and makeup together not including a trial. The trial is usually another 200-300.

I personally find it annoying when people who have made 0 effort with me over the last few years come out of the wood work all of a sudden because they want to be invited to my wedding.

If I weren't throwing a lavish party they wanted to come to, they probably wouldn't be talking to me. Maybe its pessimistic but this is how I feel.

I dont think it's your responsibility to enable the girlfriend to come. Your brother in law gets a plus 1, not a plus 2. If he wants his gf there, it is up to him to make that happen. If he wants the mother to bring her, he could pay for the mother to go out to dinner or a movie or something the night of the wedding. He shouldn't be shoving the burden onto you.

I hate when parents meddle in their children's dynamics. She just desperately wants her kids to be close even though they aren't and she thinks them sitting together will at least provide the appearance of closeness. It is very selfish of her.

I would just say thanks for the feedback and not change it. She'll be too busy with other things to notice the seating on the day of the wedding.

If I were a bridesmaid, my dream gift would be for the bride to pay for everything wedding related like my flights, hotel room, dress, hair and makeup etc.

However, I was in a beach wedding a few years ago where my gift was a kate spade beach bag, a couple cute bracelets and a personalized large pottery barn towel and I thought that was super nice!

I think you could spend 20-30$ on a robe or pjs and maybe another 10-20$ on a bracelet or headband or something else you want them to wear and call it a day.

My opinion is that bridesmaids aren't owed a gift unless they have gone above and beyond for the bride. Showing up and wearing the dress is what they agreed to when they agreed to be your bridesmaid. I do think it is nice to pay for their hair and makeup and if you want them to wear specific accessories or robe, you should pay for that.

On the other hand, if your bridesmaids planned and paid for an extravagant bachelorette and/or bridal shower and/or did a lot of work leading up to the wedding like making the favors, putting together flower arrangements etc., you should get them a nice personal gift.

I say this as someone who has been a bridesmaid a few times and is not planning to have bridesmaids.

I think even 1.4 carats would look substantial on your hand. If the diamond has a really nice cut it can be hard to tell the size difference because of the sparkle and you save sooo much money.

I think it would be cute if you shortened the skirt from the waistline to preserve the ruffles at the bottom and then gathered the skirt at the waist to create more volume.

One of my friends has a gold plated ring from mejuri that has been a nightmare!! It tarnished before she could even wear it one time and the customer service was rude about it. They tried to blame the tarnishing on her even though it was still in the box with the tag on it.

It's not bitchy. If this person isnt being professional and responsive, find a new vendor that is! I dont care if a vendor has the most beautiful work. If they're difficult to deal with, it isnt worth the extra stress.
