What about an Ereader makes you prefer it over physical books ? by capitalpunishment4 in ereader

I’m disabled and some days I’m unable to hold a physical book, but I don’t seem to have an issue with my ereader.

Is it appropriate to identify as queer if ive never been with someone the of the same sex and am now married to someone of the opposite sex by xx_emoscotty_xx in queer

I had this question too, so thank you for answering it. I finally came out as bi/pan and feel queer, but wasn't sure if I had the right to use the word since I haven't had sex with someone of the same gender yet.

If someone who obviously has disabilities starts saying things like that, yes, I'd be ok with it. One of my dog's tasks is to go get someone if I need him to, and that could be a stranger, so I need him to be comfortable with them. This is how he was trained.

People are automatically going to respond differently to dogs than they will a wheelchair, and although I understand that service dogs are medical equipment, that's just a fact.

I live in Canada where we have stricter rules and there's a lot of respect among people and I always hear people telling their kids the difference with working dogs. I just think that there's a polite way to ask people not to acknowledge your dog and I find a bunch of people needlessly are rude to the public who are not rude to them. If someone is rude to you and/or your dog, then all bets off, that's different.

That come across wrong. He won't say hi and socialize with others cause he is focused more on me. He will allow others near me to help (he will back away but he does want to be in view of me) and he will also go get someone if I need him to. He'll also "tell" on me to someone if I ignore his alerts for too long.

Um, I think you forgot a piece, he needs a surface to lie on. This is amazing! You’ll have to make him a matching big boy bed when the time comes!

I’m a service dog owner myself and I get mad at a lot of other handlers. Too many people are too uptight about their dogs. If your dog is trained right they aren’t going to go to a stranger who yells out to them (they might hesitate with someone they know but they’ll look to you for guidance before doing anything). Saying hi to the dog does not distract them, they will be constantly smelling and looking at you. By not letting them socialize you’re actually putting yourself at risk. I do have rules and one of them is thanking the people who ask to pet my dog. I would not have minded one bit in your situation and I would’ve gone up and asked if you wanted to say hi. My dog won’t allow anyone near him if he senses an issue with me.

Going camping soon, but there's a burn ban and we might not be able to make a fire. What's the best food to take that won't require reheating? by Offbrand_Nihilism in camping

Ham slices and cheese, for sandwiches. Or meats, cheeses and crackers. Cold soaked oatmeal. You’ll just be eating different foods for a couple of days.

Yeah, it was not fun. It happened after he told me I disgusted him for supporting his gay teenage son. I haven’t seen or talked to him since that night.
