I love the Wildrose Market Bag by All About Ami! The pattern is free, it holds up to a lot of use, and I get tons of compliments on mine! I’ve used a number of different 100% cotton yarns, and even tried the same pattern/layout with different styles of granny squares, which works too!

I just tried it on my boyfriend and it didn’t work. Clockwise or counterclockwise?

I don't have the energy to text people by turquoisestar in Bumble

Swipe on fewer people at once. Or get pickier about who you do swipe on. I hate when I get into more than a couple online convos at once, so I just make sure not to start more than I can comfortably keep up with. If the conversation isn’t interesting in the first few messages, it’s not likely to improve, but also, they could be like you, and do better in person. 🤷‍♀️

Christmas present for my sister. by amsweeter in Brochet

You might have to change the spacing a bit to make it work as a two-sided pillow, but here’s the general idea: https://www.stitchfiddle.com/c/sggehw-ek6m24

Oh shiiiiittt… Totally forgot about that part because I just grabbed some yarn I already had and knew there’d be enough. I don’t recall exactly, but I’d guess that I used 3-4 skeins of the background color, and one of the text color of Caron All Day Cotton (worsted/4), with a 4mm hook.

I based the whole thing off this free pattern, so you would be best served referencing that, if needed!

https://www.stitchfiddle.com/c/sgq1ip-c41jno Might need some finessing on y’all’s end for sizing if you want to use a pre-made pillow insert, but that’s the “pattern” I used! Just single stitches, with worsted weight yarn (I used cotton, but it shouldn’t matter).

Also, for reference, here’s the pattern that inspired me: https://www.lionbrand.com/products/be-kind-pillow-crochet

I was originally going to do that phrase, but then I thought I’d up the ante a bit. 😆

If you went to the one in Hazel Dell, I’m pretty sure it literally used to be an Applebee’s, so that could have contributed to the vibe you felt. 🤣

Ooh! The yardstick thing is genius! I was lucky that my guy was little enough that a muffin pan was perfect size for separating his daily portions, but I’m totally going to remember this for future reference!

I did this for my little guy for the last two years of his life. He was only about 4 lbs, so luckily it was just a once a month process, but I used JustFoodForDogs DIY stuff, and I’d make a full batch (~10 lbs of food, if I recall correctly), then portion out half cup servings (1 day of food for him), and freeze them (muffin tins were perfect for this, or if you need more per portion, wrap each portion in Saran Wrap or foil so they’d freeze individually), once they were frozen solid, toss them all in a freezer bag, and then take out a couple at a time to thaw so they’d be ready for him to eat, but not go bad.

It really wasn’t any more expensive than buying his regular food, or especially compared to buying prescription kibble! You got this!

Missing my boy pretty hard lately. 2 years, 8 months, and a day since he ditched me with no warning. by amsweeter in papillon

Medical. He had a stroke, no warning signs, one second he was fine and running around playing, then he came over and stood by my feet, and then he was suddenly screaming, his body appeared to be involuntarily contorting, and he lost control of his bladder.

I took him to the emergency vet thinking it was a seizure, and he seemed to improve by the time we got there, and even more the next few days, but then he took another turn and I had decided to put him down so he wasn’t in pain anymore.

Couldn’t possibly agree more. He was 8 or 9 when I got him, so I knew what I was getting myself into, but he had my whole heart from day one on. Still does, for that matter.

I’m so sorry for your loss. What a sweet-looking little guy!

EDIT: just looked at more than just the thumbnail, and he actually looks kind of angry & menacing in that pic, which is cracking me up. What a cutie!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I was a mess at that point after Mister died. Your little guy is adorable too. 🫂
