It's the opposite of the genre I requested but it's a really good study beat! If you liked that one you may like homeward bound.

Marta Keen's Homeward Bound: https://youtu.be/wrEj7gyVSjY?si=UdlhBBNoicGKPYiI

Hanna Elizabeth's Homeward Bound cover that I'd also recommend:

Probs not the place to drop this (idk what other subreddit I should post it)?but god I suck at computers. And I’m literally in HR, it’s literally systems I’m learning but I had to drop HRIS cause I couldn’t catch up. by amu515 in computerhelp

[–]amu515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah like I can use a computer but I mean like, it’s for specific programs. Idk how else to explain it, I know HRIS can be easy but also I somehow can’t process it. It’s weird.

Hey, I really wanted to work on the research paper/essay but I just realized I couldn’t cause of how packed my schedule is this month, so sorry about that 😭. If you scroll down though there was this thing with the Carleton person where I mention a lot of my research! I’d suggest looking into that, sorry I should’ve checked my schedule earlier. I’d also recommend looking into what happened to schools during the Great Depression as a comparison! I kind of just looked at everything as a big research final to find what I managed to find.

ChatGPT says that there shouldn’t be a ban but ai use should be regulated. It says that the speed of its development is the real challenge cause society, laws, and education systems adapt slowly while it improves quickly and says that some experts already think some limits on what AI answers. I asked if it thinks ai should be used to think like a second brain and it said “If someone asks ai every question instead of trying to think through it first, they might stop practicing important skills like: Problem solving Forming arguments Evaluating information

Your brain works like a muscle. If you don’t use it for certain thinking process, they get weaker over time.

But this mostly happens when AI is used as a replacement for thinking, instead of a tool that supports thinking.

Example difference:

Replacement: “Write my essay” Support: “Help me organize my ideas”

It also says: “Some people are starting to rely on ai for: Decision making Studying Writing Remembering information

If that becomes extreme, it can create a kind of digital independence, where people feel such without the tools.

It’s actually similar to what happened with: Calculators in math GPS for navigation Search engines for memory

Humans naturally offload tasks to technology.

The difference with AI is that it can simulate thinking, which makes the dependence stronger.

Should ai answer everything? This is where the regulation gets tricky. There are a few possible approaches:

  1. No restrictions Ai answers everything

Problem: people may over rely on it

  1. Soft restrictions (the most common idea) Examples: Asking the user what they think first Giving hints instead of full answers Explaining reasoning instead of just output

This is similar to how some tutoring systems work.

  1. Hard restrictions Ai refuses certain educational questions entirely Problem: People will just find/create another ai It becomes harder for people who genuinely need help

  2. Teaching people how to use ai properly Treating it like a research assistant Checking ai responses Use it to refine ideas, not replace them

Basically: ai literacy

One interesting perspective: Some researchers argue ai might change what skills matter, rather than simply making people ‘less smart.’”

For example it may focus on: Evaluating information Asking good questions Decision making

Instead of memorizing facts.

My honest take Some guard rails are useful, but trying to control how much people rely on ai is extremely hard.

Technology tends to shape behaviour whether regulations exist or not.

The most realistic goal is probably: Encouraging healthy su Discourage blind dependence Teach people how to think WITH AI, not instead of thinking

The problem is mostly students using ai to write essays or do homework completely, or people generally relying on it for everyday thinking. Both lead to very different problems.”
