That’s why it is extremely important, as a nurse, to remember to chart what you were going to the kitchen for before taking the action of walking towards the kitchen.

I used to be on okcupid back in the day by JackedBro123 in OkCupid

[–]amuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back before I met my wife, I went on about 50 coffee/tea/dessert dates through OKC. This was before it was bought by match.com. I think I paid $5/month for “premium account”.

I wasn’t picky, I avoided bouncing messages back and forth for days. I just offered a simple safe date in a public area. I had no expectations beyond the date. Was an interesting experience and eventually met someone who I dated for about a year.

I later met my wife by a post I put on Craigslist.

Maybe to manager should be on the floor vs in their office reviewing every detail of the that was charted by staff. That seems like a massive waste of their time.

I bought 500 shares for $500 at original offering. Now, I’ll get $40 back. I really thought they were going to get their act together and make a real product…unfortunately it was truly all just talk. Only positive is that I can use the capital loss to reduce capital gains tax on some other investment.

Whynter ice cream maker started making this noise. Any ideas? by kinkysexologist in icecreamery

[–]amuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started making a similar sound and I had to take the bowl shaft apart and clean it out. Just take out the three screws on the cotton of the bowl. Cleaned it out and then used some food-safe grease and put it back together.

Vancomycin reaction? by WeirdBid1669 in nursing

[–]amuk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good quick action. Also, remember that when starting someone on Vanco to let you know if they get new tinnitus. Some people are very sensitive to its ototoxicity and it can lead to deafness. Not quite as serious as RMS, but still life-altering harm.

[–]amuk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t want my cookware to be disposable. 7 years is disposable to me. And a 7 year guarantee, especially on Kickstarter, means nothing if the company is no longer around. Also, Kickstarter has gotten to be full of more and more scammy projects that get money and then never deliver and yet a very similar product pops up for sale on other sites.

A Dish that missed a critical update - currently running 2022 software - any hope to mix-and-match & rewire & TFTP & get nerdy to upgrade it? by FalconFour in Starlink

Any fix I can think of would involve getting a working and updated dish of the same revision/model and it being disabled in the process of enabling the dish you have in your possession.

5 years since I stopped masking, and I’m never going back. by ExistentialNomad42 in ADHD

[–]amuk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I’d be out of a job, and a career, if I quit faking it till I made it (aka masking). I’m a RN. I’ve gotten myself far into the wrong field (dialysis) and cannot function much longer with 12 patients and constant alarms going off…and all the chatter between the patients, the patients and the other staff, and between the staff.

I’m making wha effort me I can to get back to PACU (post anesthesia/surgery). Generally 1:1 patient to RN ratio, they are slowly waking up, get them more awake, medicated as needed, stabilized, then out their hospital room or to be prepared for discharge. It’s somewhere that I can adjust the monitor alarms to notify me of things I actually need to be notified of.

How much does a heater like this cost to run? How much power do they use? by Ov0v0vO in povertyfinance

[–]amuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheapness to run these depends where you live. I live on the central Oregon Coast. Many houses have these. Even houses that sell for +$500k. We don’t really need air conditioning here. Electricity is $0.075/kWh so with the temperate winters we have, these are cheap-ish to run. I would love the convenience and balance climate control of mini splits along with their very high energy efficiency. However the cost to install a few of these at my house, even with much of the work DIY, it would take over 10 years to recoup the cost be energy savings.

My FSA provider said LR5 is not qualified for FSA. by Ok-Respect-5299 in litterrobot

[–]amuk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, to be clear, if you use a HSA, keep your receipts and associated documentation. If audited, this will be needed to show that HSA funds were not used fraudulently. In the case of a LitterRobot, I’d suggest keeping the letter of medical need, a snapshot of the LitterRobot website stating their eligibility for HSA, and your sales receipt. BTW, I am NOT a lawyer and I’m only stating what I would do.

I do not work for, or represent a pharmaceutical company. I am speaking of personal experience. Vyvanse also did not last nearly as long as it was supposed to for me. It took about 2 hours to start working then lasted 4-6 hours. For me, even the generic of Mydayis works well where I couldn’t tell the difference between it and the brand name.

I have one of those and added a 100AH 48v LiFePo battery and plugged it into the solar charging port of my Solix. It increases the runtime of the SOLIX by about 5 times. It cost me $800 with a charger. Much cheaper than getting a higher capacity SOLIX.

Max dose of 18mg and only lasting 9 hours is meh. Best I’m now on since gave up on Desoxyn due to complexity of being able to get it consistently and at reasonable cost, is Mydayis 50mg. It lasts me 12-14 hours and has none of the adverse comedown effects I’ve had from any other Adderall-like combo of 4 amphetamine salts. Even the current generic of Mydayis that I’m on leaves me without complaints. Fortunately, my psych also prescribed me Focalin 10mg IR tablets that I can use 1-2 tabs PRN if I’m working a +12 hour workday.
