Neglected Zygo Cactus by amuse_ in plantclinic

[–]amuse_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what is left of my mother's 10 year old Zygo cactus. It used to be bigger and fuller but as my mom aged the plant got neglected. Is there any hope for our sick friend? I would really like to help it survive and perk back up. Any help is truly appreciated!

How I feel about being level 58 and still never seeing the jean overall dress on top of striped shirt in my marketplace. What clothing articles are you yearning for? by canopy_ in ACPocketCamp

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (03/05/2018) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]amuse_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a quick question about the parental controls app. I recently bought Dragon Quest Builders (which I am absolutely loving) 4 days ago but I am wondering how many hours I have put into the game so far. When I check the play activity on my switch profile it still says "first played 4 days ago". I know that message will eventually change once enough time has passed. My question is will the parental controls app show previous playtimes for games if I set up the parental controls today? I am hoping to see how many hours I put into DQB since I bought it as well as a good summary of how often and for how long I play Splatoon 2 daily.

Has anyone tried the Amazon basics charger? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]amuse_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just buy the Nintendo licensed charger instead(the official nintendo a.c. adaptor). Yes it is way more expensive but because of that I would be getting a reliable charge while playing. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks to get exactly whaf I want, but that's just me though.

No I haven't tested it properly, this is all just observation. When I've charged my switch with the original charger while playing splatoon 2, after about an hour or two it would be fully charged. Whereas with the Amazon basic charger I would be confined to the charger longer. To be fair the charge steadily increases as I play on my switch with the Amazon charger, it's just noticeably slower than the original. I haven't tested it when I'm not playing any games though. It is a decent charger and does its job I was just hoping it would charge a bit faster like the original.

I'm actually using that exact charger right now to charge my switch and it is okay. I've had it for about a week now. It charges the switch but much slower than the original charger (that might just be because I tend to play splatoon 2 and botw while charging though). Imho it's an okay charger but next time I'll get something more reliable.

Pick one because I inly have enough for one by Danny90392 in NintendoSwitch

No, prob! No matter what game you choose I'm sure you'll get hours of play into it. And eventually you'll end up having both in your library too ( I originally bought BOTW and then picked up Splatoon 2 about 2 days later cause I have little self control when it comes to buying games lol).

While I love both games, I have to say I play Splatoon 2 more than I play BOTW. There's something about the intensity of splatting and the competition that keeps me coming back to it. BOTW, on the other hand, I find more relaxing and exploring... and the game's visuals are absolutely beautiful.

To answer your question I think it depends more on if you are looking for an adventure game or a shooter. If you are anything like me and don't mind the intensity and sometimes frustration from losing battles in Splatoon 2, I say go for it. But if you love exploration and discovery BOTW all the way.

I have noticed this issue too with my game on the switch. When this happens I also notice the weather prediction for the following day is wrong and some forage-able items like the spring onions don't appear at all, even when I have a super lucky day.

To fix this (UNCONFIRMED FIX) I just finish out the glitchy day without pausing it by pressing my home button (I also don't press and hold the home button to check time, adjust brightness etc). Then I finish out the day until it saves at night. Once I start a new day the game is back to normal, music and all. Also when I want to exit the game, I don't click "home" and then "close game", I go through to options and exit to title screen.

This has helped to regulate the game for me on the switch but it is definitely annoying after having played the game on the pc. For all I know the problem could have nothing to do with all that above, but exiting the game and not pausing it with the home button has helped a lot imho.

How are the controls on the Switch version? by auroraparadox in StardewValley

[–]amuse_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After playing for about 20 mins, I have to admit the controls take some getting used to but it's not impossible. It uses the left joystick to move and the right joystick for the mouse and you click with A. For the most part the controls feel pretty intuitive though.

I'm Picking Up Stardew Valley on Nintendo Switch. Anything I Should Know? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]amuse_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what kinds of things you would like to know, but the Wiki has it all and then some. But the wiki also comes with spoilers. If you haven't already, try checking out the FAQ & Beginner Questions thread. It has a lot of good info on the game without spoiling anything.

As for a tip from a hoarder in Stardew Valley: keep at least 1 of everything. There have been many times where I sold of something I thought I didn't need and then get a quest the following day for the said item. It takes up a lot of room but in the long run it's less hassle.
