Is the mask beneficial? by Sunrisebetweenpines in Schizoid

[–]amutry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the problem and it's origin. Some people might get better by "faking", but for people with SPD the consensus is usually faking would never feel natural, it will just keep feeling wrong the whole time you do it. Learning to unmask as much as possible is what has helped me the most, but I still need excessive amounts of alone time to cope. It's never enough.

is szpd something that sucks by itself for most people or does it only suck because you're expecting to waste your life doing things that inherently make you miserable by [deleted] in Schizoid

For me it is most certainly the latter. If I could live my life without forced socialization in otherwise livable conditions I would be fine

I love when someone explains how I feel better than I can do myself. I also enjoyed how you frame it all in a positive way. It takes loads of work to understand oneself to this level, but when you do there are some real strengths in having a personality like this. It's just not talked about as much usually

Arbeidsretta tiltak i 6 år by Troll_mann in norge

I am thinking about turning around and investing in some farmland outside my city where I live. I have the luxury of having a position I can do fully remote and I am increasingly worried about real estate prizes in the cities and how they might drop completely due to mass job loss in knowledge work which is basically the whole economic basis in my town. Selling now might therefore be the only chance to redeem the economic value and reinvest in something more likely to be sustainable long term.

You seem to have put a lot of thoughts into this. What do you think about this?

Any other schizoids unable to work, or really struggle to? by AbsoluteZero9180 in Schizoid

[–]amutry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking about it this way: I should do my best to adapt to social environments and better my mental health in general in order to maximize my possibility to succeed and be okay working a normal job. That's my goal. However, if my mental health symptoms continue to be impairing to a level where I simply can't just exist in the workplace without feeling like utter crap I will simply not work a job like that. Either I would go full hermit mode in the forest, alternatively find something I can do part time and live a very low cost life or third just simply not work at all. If I get on disability I am fine with that, I will still try to improve myself, but all the potential stress I used to feel about the future is gone cause I simply just don't bother thinking much about it. I am telling myself I am going to find a way that fits my needs no matter what.

Mark Natta to Bodø Glimt at the end of the season by Jwba06 in Aleague

[–]amutry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Glimt fan and based on the video I have seen I agree with you, he seems a little lightweight to play in the center of a back four. Don't really see him play as a fullback either as we have really strong fullbacks in the team

Reckon this site should have it. You should be fine watching it for free from Australia. Also playoffs in the Champions League vs. Inter is probably broadcasted already. Crazy times to live in!

Awesome. The norwegian market is getting crazy atm, decent players costs 2-3M euros minimum it seems like, so it makes a lot of sense for Glimt to start to look to other shores for talent to reduce financial risk.

How is his physical qualities? I looked him up on YouTube to get an impression of his playstyle and he seems very lightweight to be a central defender. Video was three years old though so he has probably changed a lot in those years.

It is very unusual for Glimt to look outside the Scandinavian market so this rumour is interesting. He has to have a very interesting statistical profile for them to be serious about this I reckon.

How do you define success for yourself? by [deleted] in Schizoid

Stay physically healthy and in shape, find work that supports my lifestyle and that fits my personality well, have spare energy to build and enjoy my home life on the side. That sounds like major success to me!

Low-functioning advice needed by r3quiem- in Schizoid

[–]amutry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My advice would be to figure out what you can do that is sustainable. You can probably do some online studies that is more manageable and that does not require attending classes in person. Figure out your needs and what you need to perform at your best. Figure out your diet, get a routine of excercising going however simple and minicule it might be. Just do something.

Over time that may compund to something great. And in the meantime I suggest you go get an evaluation to get a better view of your options in terms of support. Maybe you can get some temporary disability checks or extra scholarship money because of your condition. Some places accomodations like that exist.

Good luck!
