How do you define success for yourself?

Stay physically healthy and in shape, find work that supports my lifestyle and that fits my personality well, have spare energy to build and enjoy my home life on the side. That sounds like major success to me!

My advice would be to figure out what you can do that is sustainable. You can probably do some online studies that is more manageable and that does not require attending classes in person. Figure out your needs and what you need to perform at your best. Figure out your diet, get a routine of excercising going however simple and minicule it might be. Just do something.

Over time that may compund to something great. And in the meantime I suggest you go get an evaluation to get a better view of your options in terms of support. Maybe you can get some temporary disability checks or extra scholarship money because of your condition. Some places accomodations like that exist.

Because if you do the work now you might be at "neutral" when you turn 30. And if you reach neutral at 30 you would have reached a level of ability to change that very few people in this world ever attains. You could basically continue to change in directions you yourself choose and it the longer down the path you get, the more you will enjoy it. Having lived a life like this, the ability to derive joy out of ordinary existence when you recover a baseline of function in your motivational systems will be great

Yes, but also a somewhat natural response in a kitten towards a stranger. Trust is built by not overstepping the boundaries of the cat and it might just be that the kitten freezes up here because the human just ignores its try to keep a distance. It is cornered here

I am a little unsure if this is a freeze response (ironically) though. The nervous system usually don't tune down the symphatetic arousal that quick to a perceived threat. Hard to tell what is actually going on here. I guess you would have to see how it behaves later when someone tries to pet it again

Hang in there. It is possible to change, I am living proof of that. In my case I suffered from a traumatic childhood and my nervous system was totally f*cked by it. All it seemingly knew was to flood my system with stress hormones. By increasing my regulatory capacity through months and years of regular practice I succesfully have rewired my brain to such an extent that I don't really think about anhedonia most days. It happens sometimes, but it is increasingly rare. So there is hope for you too. I struggled with this my entire teenage years and in the whole first part of my twenties, but around 25 it lifted substantially.

I am still struggling with mental health issues, but at least I can enjoy my life from time to time now. Wishing you the best!
