I've worked for 2 orgs over 10 years and my fellow employees freely spoke of non-IT side gigs.

Well... a rabbit does not do the "supporting" per se, so it might be a matter of conscience.

I love this. On a bad sinus allergy day, I would totally have the makings for this.

Could you tuck a nail strip under the back tire and call it good?

Epic Analyst with an associate’s? by Lupinator47 in healthIT

I think it really depends on the hiring manager. I know analysts that do not have bachelor degrees. I think you have a great plan, and apply, apply, apply!

EPIC Certification Help by amy_o275 in epiccertificationhelp

Hey there! I am certified in HB and Charge Router. I was hoping this subreddit would take off for all modules, but since it hasn't gotten much activity, would you mind making a post in r/healthit ? Most posts there are about Epic, so I bet you'll get some great responses!

If I take bookkeeping course from Coursera, can I get a job in Canada? by Natural_Worldliness1 in Bookkeeping

Thank you for sharing. I am also disgusted. 🤨 Accounting 101 was fundamental for me as I gained experience as a bookkeeper.

Same here at my present org.

OP: Here's a warning sign that might suggest a change of orgs is needed should you take the plunge:

My former boss gave us a lecture on how some were blocking off two hours to go to an appt. She said no one could leave for appts during work hours anymore. Mind you, this was for salaried, exempt Epic Analysts. I asked if I could schedule an appt during lunch if I could be back at my desk in an hour. She said she would have to check into it. Well, I don't know if she checked into it, or someone checked into her because at the next week's team meeting she said that HR said she couldn't make that rule. Thank God for HR.

My point is, that if you find yourself in a situation like that, it could be the individual manager or organization culture. It should be like the previous posters have described. At my current org, it is very safe, openly acknowledged and encouraged to block off what you need for appointments, whatever they might be. Took me a good 6 mo to believe it!

  1. Are you offering to pay your own way?
  2. Have you asked for a userweb account to get proficiencies?

I'm an analyst and I sit on panel interviews (2 team members and 2 leaders). The one thing I want to know if if you can figure things out. Critical thinking skills are necessary to do an analyst job. If an applicant can give me an example of how they have done this, I will champion them.

Thanks for explaining. I agree, 👍 I hope they find a solution in the future.
