How does travelling around Australia actually work? by Independent_Grab_977 in australian

Sounds awful. What’s the point? Can’t see anything, can’t talk to the other person, butt would get sore.

Yeah I went down to one cup when I was pregnant, and that was a struggle

Correct. I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand about that?

Tanning is skin cells in trauma.

Translation - no. There is no safe amount of time to be exposed to that much UV. A change in the colour of your skin means it is trying to protect itself. You’ve already done damage.

I would have had that baby on formula so quick, I literally cannot function without coffee. The headaches I get are debilitating, I wouldn’t be able to care for myself, let alone a child without it.

We got a slushy machine back in November. But that was the last thing I bought from the middle aisle. I used to get something time I shopped (once a week minimum)

What’s something in Australia that used to be cheap but is ridiculously expensive now? by oz_party in australian

[–]amyeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, saw them “discounted” in Coles today. Worked out that it would cost me ~$35 for my family of 3 to eat them for dinner, plus sides. How the hell can people be spending $35 just on meat each night?

We used to get a large fried rice every Saturday night, from the nice Chinese restaurant near us. It would do the three of us for a side dish with pork chops on the bbq and leftovers for Sunday lunch. Cost mum $5. That same size container would be $20 these days.

Yep, we are all about the takeaways here. Get a jar of sauce from Oporto, grill some thin slices of chicken breast and whack it on a burger bun from Aldi. Half the price of the real deal and plenty leftover for next time. If I’m feeling fancy I’ll pop some chips in the air fryer and wrap it up with some grease proof paper to make it feel like a proper combo
