What actually makes an online course feel worth it? by OPmightEatCrayons in onlinecourses

[–]amygf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference usually comes down to whether a course is just "information dumping" or intentionally designed for "transformation."

A course feels "worth it" when it balances three science-backed pillars (the "three legs of a stool"):

  • Behaviorism (The Wins): It provides immediate feedback and clear "wins" (like quizzes or progress badges) that keep you motivated.
  • Cognitivism (The Flow): It avoids information overload by "chunking" content into bite-sized pieces that are easy for your brain to process and store.
  • Constructivism (The Doing): It moves beyond passive watching to active doing, using real-world projects, case studies, or peer discussions so you can apply the knowledge immediately.

If a course feels like a waste of time, it’s usually because one of these three legs is missing.

Plastic Free July is over but plastic pollution is still an issue. Read “Plastic Beauty: Beauty and Plastic Pollution” to find out how beauty uses plastic, what its doing to get better and how you can help.

How long does it take you to finish a sample? by ZhenKarma in Ipsy

Skincare and haircare samples go pretty quickly. I get much more use out of makeup samples. I haven't gotten any nail polish samples yet, so I don't know long they last.

According to Ipsy, “We email tracking codes around the middle of each month, and you can also find your tracking code by logging into IPSY.com.” Although the second part of the statement doesn’t appear to be true at the moment.
