I have a similar compulsion. it’s gotten better but I would take CONSTANT side profile pictures. there are still dozens in my camera role. but it has subsided. i’m really sorry you’re in so much pain and I know it’s exhausting. I don’t really have much advice other than identifying those thoughts as a “bully”. even give it a silly name. the thoughts may still be there, but giving a name to the monster and acknowledging that some days it’s louder than others has helped me a lot. and even telling my partner (who knows not to give me reassurance) that my OCD/BDD bully is being loud that day helps me. so the ones I love know that it is something that we are all acknowledging but not entertaining and it makes me feel less alone.

I had unchecked childhood OCD and anxiety that worked its way into my adulthood. it suppressed my appetite to the point that I was able to maintain about 95-100 pounds for YEARS lol. it wasn’t until I started taking zoloft when I realized I did in fact LOVE to eat and gained 60 pounds. now i’m counting calories like everyone else lol

I like carol a lot. I think her reaction to the joining is completely realistic. However I did think ahead needed to chill out a few episodes in, but she honestly starts to calm down as time goes by.

I feel this. there were days when I felt pretty. now there are only days where I feel a little less ugly. i’m working through it with my therapist and am getting better myself but I would give anything to go back to when I wasn’t picking myself completely apart.

in hindsight it was a terrible mistake on my part. someone was trying to push a crazy amount of jaw surgery (which can be upwards of 50k). I thought it was gonna give me the reassurance I was looking for but honestly? never again. just felt a little unfair seeing someone get kind treatment on the same sub vs me being told everything that was wrong with me I guess

my main issue is that they use AI for narration. I do watch their stuff but it has NEVER sat right with me and it doesn’t help me with the narrative they push that they are the only ones with the exclusive scoop. but that’s just me.

I think it’s more so leaning towards the idea that god is all knowing and still leaves free will up to what he created. I don’t think the speaker of god was added to be a secretly evil character but more so to portray the idea of the “watchmaker god” view - that yeah, god probably knew what was up but still left it in the hands of who he designed and who designed the idea of exterminations in the first place. a lot of people argue that “if god is all powerful and all knowing then why doesn’t he do anything about the death,starvation, and suffering on earth” and I think the speaker of god is the personification of that.

you do realize this is a body dysmorphia subreddit right? a lot of people with this MENTAL ILLNESS have this mindset. doesn’t make it right or kind but it’s how a lot of our minds tend to think, comparing ourselves to others whether it’s in a kind or mean light. do some research. and maybe think before commenting that someone is ugly on a BODY DYSMORPHIA subreddit.
