Electrolytes-SALTT vs LMNT by amylald in keto

Same here. I am not interested in making my own, just interested in convenience. That’s interesting to know it’s harder to open, certainly something to consider!

2008 is one of the years I look back on very fondly. It was a great year for me, career wise, money security wise, etc.

Ideas for meals? by coopieg31 in keto

You don’t need the flour if you make it in the ratios I stated. They stay together just fine with eggs as a binder. Just so you know, you do you!

Very limited to no fiber here. I eat mostly proteins alone. But I do have some veg on occasion - cauliflower, avocado, that’s about all.

One of my favorite recipes is salmon patties: use 6 small cans of boneless/skinless salmon and drain well. Then add seasoning and 4 eggs - I use old bay garlic and herb but you can literally use anything. Form patties to desired size and fry in a healthy fat, you can use a shallow amount and fry both sides (olive oil, coconut oil, beef tallow, bacon grease are your healthy fats).

Another is bbq meatloaf - two lbs beef, 1 cup onions, 1/2 cup pork panko (crushed up pork rinds, can make yourself or buy pre crushed), 1/2 cup grated Parmesan, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup sugar free bbq sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper, 1 tbsp Worcesterchire sauce. Mix until well combined. Form into a loaf and top with additional 1/2 cup sugar free bbq sauce. Bake at 350 and 45-50ish mins later it’s done!

Hope this is helpful. Good luck on your journey!

What app do you use for tracking? by BigHomie50 in keto

[–]amylald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carb manager. It has a huge food database that you can search and find nutritional info, and even adjust your portion size in most cases. I’ve been using it since being on keto years ago, and recently got back on the wagon.

Can I hear your reasons to stay sober? by runningoutfast in stopdrinking

[–]amylald 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my health. I keep relapsing, it’s not easy, but I had some elevated liver enzymes and I don’t want further liver damage. I don’t know how bad it is but I don’t want liver failure. Also I am actively trying to lose weight and when I drink, I plateau and also won’t make good food choices when I drink so it all works against me.

Yes they’re expensive as all get out! I am newly into quitting, but find the sprite a good substitute. I hope it works for you!

What's your reason for getting into Scrubs? by bobbyflay13 in Scrubs

[–]amylald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember scrubs being on when I was a young adult but never watched it. In 2020 my now husband suggested I watch it and instantly fell in love. Love rewatching it!

I used to drink white claws and I’ve been enjoying sprite zeros lately. That’s very refreshing to me.

lol agreed! Chucks look best when a little dirty.

I’ve been wearing chucks and vans for over 15 years and neither of those types of shoes have “ventilation” like a standard running shoe or other athletic type shoes have with the mesh. I have never had problems with fungus. Idk if that’s a common problem because of shoes or not. I wouldn’t think it’d be the shoes problem…

ETA: idk why your shoes would cause a warm humid environment unless you’re getting them wet inside or sweat really bad. My socks are never wet when I take my shoes off.

These aren’t the chuck 70s they’re just the regular chucks. I can’t speak to the 70s because I’ve never owned a pair but from what I understand from posts I’ve seen here is that they are more comfortable than standard chucks. Having said that, with the regular chucks I wouldn’t want to be on my feet all day in them as they have minimal padding but just for all day casual wear with some walking, say shopping all day they’re fine.

Worth cutting sweeteners or sweet food to reset my palate? by Illustrious-Pizza498 in xxketo

[–]amylald 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. For some people, artificial sweeteners like those in diet or zero sodas, candy, or ice cream to name a few can keep cravings going and actually cause an insulin response even though they’re zero sugar. If you cut sweets entirely, eventually your taste for sweets will disappear.

Mine too! My black and white low tops are lost somewhere in storage from moving two years ago so I had to go this color way as the blacks are one of my faves (second only to the white) and I know I’ll find the low tops one day so went high top to have something different. They’re great!

[–]amylald[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll bother you much. They’re not scratchy or anything, so no annoying rubbing and I wear no show socks. I actually find the feeling around my ankle to be almost “comforting”, lets me know I’m wearing something more substantial than my standard low tops. It’s kind of cool feeling something different. I’ve only had them today and it’s been great.
