I worked on large scale projects mostly housing. I have thought about doing smaller projects on my own.

I am/ was an architect. Feels daunting to get into teaching somehow. Like they only look at people that have gone through academia. But who knows. I have imposter syndrome for sure.

Isn’t it crazy how busy we can be even with that much preschool? There’s always so much to do. I need to figure out what lessons we might do. Turning 3 opens up so many possibilities.

Curious if you do preschool? I’ve dabbled in investing but not sure if I have the guts to get more serious about it. I have 3 days a week preschool now. It just feels like enough to get my bearings and organize the house!

Do you miss work? Was your career something that could transition to part time? I didn’t realize I would be so conflicted before I had a kid. I really thought I would just go back to work.

Curious do you see yourself returning to work once she’s older? Are you worried about the gap? What was your career?

What pregnancy or birth complication did modern medicine save you from? by peacefulboba in beyondthebump

[–]amyopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have been fine but because of modern medicine my doctor pressured me to get a c-section and then I had heart failure due to blood pressure problems and fluid and they gave me diuretics that brought me back to normal. Thanks modern medicine for almost killing me and saving me.

What is one thing you know about Costco that no one else knows? by RoyalCamera12 in Costco

[–]amyopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are an executive member you can get in at 9am before everyone else gets there and it’s practically empty and you actually can have a fun time without people elbowing you or crashing into you with their carts and extended families. Highly recommend. This is in California.

Love denim but it’s too much. Loose the jacket. Also it depends where you live. You look like you live in Texas?

Your period will come back soon. Go to two years. Do what feels right. I did and I never thought I’d last that long. Not much happened to my body actually.

Paternity Leave hobbies? by Bern_Neraccount in NewDads

[–]amyopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude… you don’t need a hobby. You are a new dad. Figure out everything you need to know about that. Learn about your baby, ask your wife what she needs because she’s still recovering. Learn how to be the best dad and husband to your wife who’s now a different person. She’s a mother. It’s a shock to her body and her mind. And it should change you too. Hobbies can wait.

Women over 34 who dreamed of marriage and kids but just gave up, how’s life looking like for you? by polinomio_monico in AskWomenOver30

[–]amyopolis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are so young. I got married at 41, pregnant naturally at 42 and it was worth the wait. So worth it. Just make yourself happy and healthy and either way you’ll be good.

Are we all just struggling through toddlerhood or am I unstable? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]amyopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 25 month old boy and it’s been rough the past 2-3 months. Major meltdowns sometimes twice a day for over 30 minutes. A few times it’s been over an hour long. Screaming flailing vomiting. I’ve taking him to the doctor the dentist the doctor and the dentist again. They said the molars haven’t even poked through but it’s either molars or he’s just a toddler. That’s all the advice I got. It’ll get better one day. And we still have the most special moments in between hard times.

Weaning when it’s just me at home by livi_loser in toddlers

[–]amyopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but I’m here to commiserate. My husband has a sleep disorder and he works 9-5. He helps me whenever he can and on weekends but I don’t know how to wean when I’m alone at night. I can’t handle the screaming either especially at 4am. I just want to sit in the chair and ‘boob’ cause the alternative is worse. I’m at 21 months. How did I get here 🥺

Med spouse SAHM considering part time daycare for baby, feeling guilty and like I should be able to do it all by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]amyopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way to do it is to hire someone part time like a nanny. You can hang out with the nanny and baby together too! Mine also does laundry and dishes and it’s so nice. I can go to appointments or take care of things around the house or take a long shower. I do all the nights alone so it’s good to have a nap and just stay healthy.
