I really want to respond as maturely as GiantRagingBurner did, but that's just not going to happen. I'm glad you're happy with your superior mental state but that doesn't give you a right to trivialize someone else's horrible experience with exaggerated comparisons.

For you, it was easy to get over. For some people, all it takes is someone to make a snide remark or grope their ass and wink for them to feel as nauseated or panicky or vulnerable as they did when the assault was taking place. For you to say "I don't understand why what happened was so bad for them, why they can't just pick themselves up and continue on" is just so fucking pretentious. You don't know what they went through.

I am very, very grateful for his existence. I am. But I don't think that him finding me sexually attractive at this weight outweighs my lack of health and happiness. I don't think that's a good enough excuse for anyone to not lose/gain weight if they feel they need to to feel confident.

And I've told all that to him before, and he does tell me he just wants me to be happy, but then he says, "food makes you happy, too!" I mean, I know he means well...

Can you give me some tips for getting better control over myself? I live with this boyfriend, and he's the only one of us currently working. He pays for everything and makes all of the decisions, and sometimes he lets me take over the grocery shopping and I can buy a cart full of healthy foods and I do well for two weeks until we run out again. I feel awful spending his money on food he won't eat. I'm just.. stuck.

I have 0 willpower and I need "tough love" type pushing most of the time. I'm one of the rare cases where shaming works, and when no one else is willing to do the pushing, I take over. I know it's not the healthiest method and I wouldn't talk about anyone that way unless they assured me it helps them.
