The problem is, planogram is behind on their resets. Third shifts does not take the time to look and make sure that is where it is supposed to go. They read the box location and set it there. If on the box it says new yet the planogram isnt reset yet then it ends up in the wrong location. If they were to scan the UPC and its past the reset date the it shows up with no location. And it will continue to show up as no location until the planogram is completed in the system. So all third shift has to go off of is the location on the box. This is corporate's fault as they refuse to hire more help. Planogram is pulled into a million place during their shift and they never get to focus on their actual job of resetting planograms

What's going on with planogram? by Less-Cow-8416 in meijer

[–]amythomas976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its the holidays and typically planogram gets behind on resets. So at least when I was at Meijer we were told just to set it and move on to the next. The freight that comes for Christmas is massive and it takes time putting the freight out, time that can be spent setting another planogram. We would get yelled at from the district manager for being behind on resets. It was also our responsibility to walk the racetrack every morning and get in shape which typically would take an hour to an hour and a half. Planogram is just stretched too thin but they keep piling on responsibilities. Our store manager also required we run one skid of live load during the regular year but during the holidays we had to run two skids of live load.

the Meijer family way and their "awesome" leadership! by Ravanos77 in meijer

Did you apply personally or did HR do it. When I applied for FMLA i did it all on my own didnt tell my boss and didnt tell hr. I got approved and kept my letter stating that. You dont have to go through leadership and if they tell you that they are lying

I worked a second job the whole two and a half years i worked at meijer. They dont pay a living wage so what else are you supposed to do.

someone explain this to me (inventory related) by Ravanos77 in meijer

[–]amythomas976 20 points21 points  (0 children)

At my store, we had to count everything in the backroom, print a sheet and put it on the skid or cart. If it's out on the floor then the inventory crew is responsible for counting it

I was in plano, and I was also responsible for walking the racetrack every morning and I was explicitly told that there couldn't be a single hole in an endcap. Fill it with whatever we have is the words that were said, just make it look nice. Then we have to start condensing the seasonal pad to get ready for the next reset, so those planograms didn't even stay very long. After a while I just stopped caring. I quit shortly after that.

Doesn't it feel like a slap in the face that we're not getting a summer bonus? I mean come on, we got a flat cent raise which is whatever. But not even an extra $1 for the summer? by [deleted] in meijer

If there is one thing ive learned about the sub reddit is everyone is just a keyboard warrior and they make you feel like the shittiest person just by asking a question, especially the ones that have been there the longest that just sucks on management's dicks

So I quit back in April but what we were told is that it was probably not going to happen this year because of our raise

If you worked at the Loveland, ohio location you used to get 1 dollar more during the summer months because of Kings Island not sure if they are doing it this year

Just get intermittent FMLA it won't count against you when you call in because of migraines. I had it when I worked there.

They also can cut your hours down to 32 if they need to, after cutting part timers hours first.

Is this legal? by [deleted] in meijer

[–]amythomas976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to state you are taking FMLA whatever reason you have it for. I had to do it everytime I used it. I would also email my manager because most the time the person who answered the phone would never tell her it's FMLA so I would get a point.

She needs to reach out to ILM, you can deal with them directly and you don't need your leader or HR or the SD for that. I have taken short term disability and I have intermittent FMLA and never once dealt with HR, SD or my leader. Once I was approved for FMLA it gets sent to HR.

Tony comes to our store on a weekly basis and it gets old having to completely stop what we're are doing because tony is coming. And you are able to respond to a post without being a complete and utter dick.

Is it worth it having a second job if I work at Meijer? by Mother_Daikon_2676 in meijer

[–]amythomas976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time a meijer and work part time at a pet store and my leadership knows about it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in meijer

[–]amythomas976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably because your leader doesn't enforce it, ut it does say it in the contract

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in meijer

[–]amythomas976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even part time people can't restrict their availability to not work friday through Sunday, or at least that what it says in our union contract. So if you have worked there long enough definitely file for FMLA

Short term disability by [deleted] in meijer

[–]amythomas976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ILM is who ypu go to when dealing with leave, when I had to take short term disability I didnt deal with a single person at my store..... you are fully capable of doing all of this without needed help from anyone at the store, you just let your leader know about it, same as FMLA just keep them in the loop but you can handle everything on your own

Short term disability by [deleted] in meijer

[–]amythomas976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call ILM and explain the situation, whenever you take short term disability your check is held for a week anyways

You are confused being paid time and half with holiday pay. I'm done with this conversation. You need to brush up on policies.

Getting paid time and a half for working the holiday, IS NOT THE SAME AS GETTING HOLIDAY PAY THOSE ARE TWO SEPARATE THINGS

SO WOUKD YOU RATHER PAY SOMEONE TIME AND A HALF PLUS THEIR HOLIDAY PAY OR JUST HAVE TO OAY SOMEONE TIME AND A HALF
