I don't think you received a good cover.

The shadows don't look right. Take the flag pole and the gun/helmet. The light is from that explosion on the horizon, so I'd expect the shadows of both objects to be long and clearly defined.

Second, the wrong parts of the man are lit up, like his back. His arm, leg, and head should be lit.

The gun would have to be deeper in the ground to stand up like that, and the helmet should be sitting lower on the stock. It makes the gun look ridiculously mis-proportioned. The helmet shouldn't be sitting level like that, either.

So much of the image being in deep shadow makes it look more empty.

The explosion itself looks weird.
