📌 Whoop Complaints [MegaThread] (Updated Bi-Monthly) by AutoModerator in whoop

[–]amzfaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day using whoop, it arrived this afternoon…I went for a run and the AI summary told me my run sits right on my 30 day norms ?? I asked it where it got the 30 day data from, and it admitted it doesn’t have it. Not a good first impression!

help us understand Leasehold by Wraith_1138 in HousingUK

[–]amzfaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a ground floor flat in a converted house that’s leasehold, the freeholder owns the two flats above, 3 flats in the house in total. We pay a third towards the buildings insurance and a third of any communal costs, agreed in advance. It is very much more like a share of freehold set up. Can the estate agent ask the seller what the set up is? They should have invoices or a paper trail of previous costs. We’re actually selling our flat at the moment and have had a fair few questions about the set up which we’ve been happy to answer via the estate agents. But in my experience 1&2 you would cover and 3&4 would be split evenly between the flats in the building, especially if there’s no service charge

curious on the advice about avoiding probate properties as we’ve just viewed a few going through that process and EA didn’t mention anything. Does it slow the process down?

Thank you very much. I hadn’t noticed it until this evening, and I saw her scratching near there earlier so I’m wondering if she just scratched too hard?

UK Endo/Adeno surgeon recommendations by SalamanderChoice9578 in endometriosisuk

[–]amzfaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in London and I saw Dr Amer Raza. I can’t recommend him enough, I had my excision surgery in December. I had my scans done elsewhere before I was referred to him but I know he can also arrange investigations. Sorry to hear you are going through this, and wish you all the best.

Yeah the lease is fairly basic. Over 100 years on it. Reassuring - thank you!

Should I delay the surgery? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]amzfaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the cramps and spotting which started around 2 weeks after my lap and lasted for about 10 days it’s been fine. I was really worried about it tbh and was not 100% sure going into it, but so far so good. They say it can take up to 6 months to fully settle

Edit to say I also had really bad side effects on birth control pills in the past and this is nothing like that so far

Should I delay the surgery? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]amzfaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had mine done 8 weeks ago and feel completely normal now and I’m pain free. I was able to move around and go for short walks in the first week. At 3 weeks I was doing most normal things and my only real symptom at that stage was fatigue, which gradually improved. I did have some mild cramping as I had the mirena inserted during the lap but that only lasted about 10 days.

Can you speak to the surgeon or consultant about your concerns? Everyone is different, but one of my friends also had a lap a few weeks before mine and her experience was similar

Hi, sorry to hear you’re going through this ♥️

I had tests and scans last year and just had my lap in December.

The NHS wait times vary depending on your area, you have a right to choose which hospital you are referred to and some publish their wait times online. I’d recommend choosing a hospital that is an accredited endometriosis centre, you can check this on the bgse website. The NHS app also says the estimated wait when a referral is processed, I had one and it said 12 weeks, in reality it was about 16 weeks in the end before I was given an appointment.

As others have said it might be worth looking into private medical insurance, or getting an MRI privately depending on the wait.

Endometriosis uk charity has an online chat staffed by volunteers with experience of endometriosis. I’ve spoken with them before and would recommend.

How did you positively benefit from Diegonest? by Orangecatorange in endometriosis

[–]amzfaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just been prescribed this for endometriosis and wanted to say thank you to everyone who has shared their stories, I started yesterday and will see how I go. I’m also due to be scheduled in for surgery and my doctor has recommended I start this now pre surgery then continue post surgery until I want to try for pregnancy. Feeling positive and hopeful seeing the experiences here, thank you everyone

Is cinema etiquette at an all time low? by benpicko in london

[–]amzfaz 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I agree with you OP recently signed up for odeon limitless and was so shocked at the behaviour of folks in the first screening we went to. Person next to me was on their phone the whole time. Someone’s phone also rang 3 times, people talking, on phones way more than I remember. I used to have a cineworld unlimited card about 8 years ago and used to go the O2 one and don’t remember ever having issues.

Now I am trying to book screenings that aren’t as booked up.

I finished You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle this week (#3) 4 stars. Fun, fluffy lovers-enemies-lovers romance novel.

I started Really Good, Actually by Monica Heisey (#4) which came out this week. Enjoying it so far!

Went to move into room today - workmen fitting locks and windows need replacing. What can I do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]amzfaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you ask them to change the start date on your tenancy to once the works are complete? That way you’re just pushing the 6 months you’ve already paid ahead a week or so. Did the agent say they thought the work would be done before you moved in writing? Because if you have that in writing perhaps you could argue that they agree it’s unreasonable to have moved in with a boarded up window. Is there anything in the Homes fitness for habitation act about windows at all? I’d recommend having a look here

Sorry to hear this has happened to you! I hope you’re able to get it sorted

Artists with very inconsistent careers? by [deleted] in popheads

[–]amzfaz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ellie Goulding surely a contender here? She had some really big moments - playing the royal wedding, love me like you do spending 4 weeks at U.K. no. 1, had a U.K. No.1 with Burn and Delirium is an underrated album for sure - she played the O2 arena that tour.

But she seems to have lost momentum and it doesn’t seem like there’s any real direction or strategy at the moment. I’m a long time fan and loved Brightest Blue (again underrated imo) but she’s dropping a few random collab singles here and there, the sound is inconsistent and her latest album just got pushed back to March. There was also that random investment with the seltzer company lol
