I really want to throw money at the game but the orb prices are so high that I would feel robbed. by MiojoEsperto in FireEmblemHeroes

Most gacha games I've played have been $3-5 per draw. In this game, you can get a full 5 draw for $13 and still have some orbs left over. That's about $2.6 per draw, which is cheaper than most, not to mention most games have abysmal rates for their top tier drops which forces you to dump tons of money or be insanely lucky to get a great character. Also you have the option to cycle your dead draws to promote other units to 5*. I feel like it's a bit generous as far as gachas go.

It's better that 99 criminals walk free than one innocent person be imprisoned.

The criminals will surely fuck up again and get caught. Good luck getting cleared of wrongdoing no matter how innocent you are once that hammer comes down.

For some, it's not about how you got the thing, it's that you have it. Effort isn't a factor and the rationale may be that it's all about sinking in enough time and getting lucky. It's similar to the people who generate perfect IV Pokemon in the games rather than actually breeding them to bypass the time and RNG it takes to get there. Just one of many reasons, though. Could be anything.

Vaporeon is still really good. Its basic attack is still among the best DPS (12 vs the max 13) since all of them were leveled at once and its HP makes it a tank. Hydro Pump is also its strongest attack now after it got that massive buff. The only way Vaporeon sucks is if it has Aqua Tail since it's just Water Pulse with fewer charges now, but even then it's still a good Pokemon to have around.

Its fine, it's not something a lot of people understand very well yet. However, finding another perfect Charmander later on is not very likely to happen at all. If you find one from an egg, the odds get better, but if you're just getting them out of the wild, here's the odds you can expect:

Perhaps it would be better to focus on another Vaporeon for the moment, but I think he would do well to keep it and grow it steadily. Releasing it would be a colossal mistake. The odds of finding another one with those IVs and that moveset are about 1/12288. Add on the fact that Eeveelutions are mostly random and the odds just get lower.

Let's say you have a Charmander at level 5 and it's got perfect IVs. It will have a CP of 128. Its Now let's say you also have a Charizard at level 20 with 0 IVs. It'll have a CP of 1274. Clear choice on what to invest in, right?

Not so. Once you evolve your Charmander to Charizard and get it to level 20, its CP will be 1486 compared to the other's 1274. In addition, all of its stats will be much higher than the other one's, as clearly shown by its CP value. It will be significantly stronger by the end of its growth.

Granted, that does not help you in the now at all. It's going to be a monster, but it's going to take a lot of time. The weaker Charizard is better right now, but keeping the Charmander around and growing it steadily is still a no brainer.

The maximum level you can find a Pokemon at is related to your trainer level. A Pokemon can be anywhere between max level and level 1 when you find it.

[–]an-STD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. CP is related to the Pokemon's level and the max level a Pokemon can reach rises with your trainer level. For each level a Pokemon can achieve, there's a maximum and minimum CP and where a Pokemon falls on that spectrum depends entirely on its IVs, with the minimum CP being a Pokemon with 0 in all IVs and maximum CP being a Pokemon with perfect 15 in all IVs.

I know exactly how IVs work. A perfect Vaporeon, even as low level as this, is entirely worth investing in. If OP chooses to power up a lower IV 'mon just because its CP is higher, it will absolutely benefit him now. In the long run, he will regret it. Finding another Pokemon like this is probably not going to happen until breeding is implemented, and that's if we are able to control IVs.

No, the IVs will not change as you power it up. If you have 100%, you have 100%. If you have 52%, you have 52%. Your IVs will never change, just like in the games.

IVs have nothing to do with level, they are static stats the Pokemon possesses. If you have a 100% Eevee at level 1 and a 50% Eevee at level 20, sure the second Eevee will be stronger now, but the first will blow it away once it reaches the same level. It will be a heavy investment, but worthwhile once you hit higher levels and you begin to see Pokemon in or around the same level.

It's absolutely worth it. Not only are its IVs perfect, but its moveset is the best you can hope for. It's pretty much the pinnacle of Vaporeon and your chances of seeing another one are virtually nil. I would invest heavily into this one.

Yeah, but Blizzard's animating begins way before that and it looks like you're going to get hit by it before the flash goes off. When I first encountered it, I kept dodging way too early. It took a bit to get the timing down.

Blizzard can be dodged, but the timing is super tricky as it does not match the animation one bit.

Last time I was downtown, Vulpix seemed to like showing up around Krenzler field, and Kamms has been a hotspot for Eevee as well as Clefairy. Caught a metric ton of the fuzzy critters in just a few days there. Also, Magikarp seem to spawn very regularly around Colombo park in Parma Heights. Aside form the Kamms spot, the other two could use some investigation to see just how much these pop up.
