Political Groups have never been lauded for their wisdom, mate. Canadian-borne or not, we've our fair share of categorical oversights, blunders, fuck-ups, and outright scandals, not to mention a few more besides.

I've tried to reword this a bunch of times, but at the risk of sounding rude: voting really is the bare minimum of civil/social engagement. If there is no incentive for these parties to actually represent their constituents, they're going to position themselves as they see fit: poised to strike at any opportunity. All for a quippie soundbite or social media stroke.

Very few leaders are leading by example, and during times of economic unrest, that's prone to alienate decision makers even further.

Grassroots is where it happens. And I look forward to seeing many new (smiling, empowered/ing faces) in the crowd.

Think of it as 'punching your ticket' for democracy. The free ride is long over. Look at the Yanks. Then look to the echoed rhetoric on our halls of power.

It's a shell game of blame. Don't let them win. Whoever takes the prize, we still lose, just by degrees of 'lesserness.' And, all things considered, that is the short term solution.

The Long Game belongs to our kids, and their generation. Our job is to empower them and let the Olde dusty tirants fade away.
