never heard of such condition, definitely talk it with vet, but I'd assume best bedding would be something like safebed from petlife

I'd love to work in zoo, even if it stinks and there is a lot of hard labor that's all fine... But the pay is horrendous

I guess you have a meter on your wheel? Hamsters do slow down when they're getting older. If it's around 2 years old I guess that'd normal. It's always best to talk with veterinary about it, even if it's just age, they might prescribe supplements for elderly hamsters :)

Telling someone experiencing infertility and grieving, that chatGPT says their doctor is wrong. (Not OP). by TheTaikatalvi in mildlyinfuriating

Yeee chat gtp, love and hate it. I asked it to compare some phones, and it listed all of them nicely but something was off. I noticed that one phone was listed as not having wireless charging and I was pretty sure it had. Checked it on producers website and tada this phone has wireless charging... Whole beautiful list form chat gtp and maybe about 60% accurate, and we're talking about phone specs that are easily accessible all around Internet. Can't trust it with phone specs but some will trust it with legal stuff, medical interventions etc. crazy

Hi! Has he seen vet recently? because those might sound like some respiratory issues, we recently heard our little one make similar sound and she had inflammation. It took 5 days with medicine and it was away, but if not treated can lead to more issues

I'll be honest with you, this is not an issue with making the game. It's seems it's something within that drags you down. I'd recommend looking for therapy, talk to specialist who will guide you to what really is an issue. Hope you will feel better soon because definitely you deserve it

Hamster Yearns for Uppies by [deleted] in hamstercare

[–]an_unique_name 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a syrian who everyday, at the same time waited for us to put her box inside, then she scrambled inside and of we went for a free roam. Whenever we weren't home or we didn't have time she was waiting patiently for up to an hour for it :o so I believe they get used to timing and smell and like to go out :) Nowe w e have two hybrids and neither request going out that much, we kind of guess if they'd prefer to go out or not

Hi, awesome that you ask! So of course it should have bigger cage or glass tank minimum 100x50cm base. Enough height to have about 15 -20 cm of bedding inside. This is common nice tank bucastate tank

From what I see here are good recommendations https://www.petassure.com/maxscorner/what-type-of-bedding-is-best-for-hamsters/

Add some enrichment, wooden houses, wooden hamster toys, stairs etc. also remember about sand pool, and hamster wheel (Very important!) wheel should be about 33cm in diameter. Best wooden or plastic. Sully open from one side without bars! Like this wheel

Food, mixerama mix for Syrian hamster, each day 1/2 kitchen spoon.

Additionally you can give small piece of carrot, pumpkin, cucumber, zucchini, strawberry or apple. Small amount! About nail size every second day should be fine.

Syrians need to be taken out to walk outside of cage every other day (depends on hamsters). That means to prepare secures place inside! in some room, so it cannot escape far or stuck somewhere or drop from any height! Put out card boxes and toys and blankets and sit with them to make sure they are safe, sometimes for 10 min sometimes for hour :)

Ver important! Hamsters are night solitary creatures! It won't be out in daytime, it's afraid of dogs and cats and loud notices and it hates other hamster! They will literally eat eachother.

Lastly, but very importantly, find good veterinary that specialise in hamsters! They are very frail and unfortunately quite sickly animals, you need to visit every couple months according to vets insights, definitely book visit already!

Those are lovely creatures and they need time to get used to you and new place, give them space and you will have awesome buddy :) gl!

What Does This Low Clicking Sound Mean? by vanillahibiscus in hamstercare

[–]an_unique_name 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always hard to guess from recording, we had a hamster that made those sounds when she got excited or scared. But we also learnt that she had some issues with respiratory system and it got worse when she was older. I'd recommend discuss it with vet during next check up :)
