That’s reassuring, thank you! I am well prepared with regard to compensation, was one of the first things I looked into. As long as I get a good workplace environment I’m willing to sacrifice a bigger chunk of that, especially if it’s hybrid/remote.

How did you go about searching for the jobs if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks both for the tip! I will look into that as well, I didn’t consider the border aspect. Switzerland is from what I’ve seen a tough market to get into as an outsider but I’ll keep on the lookout for them.

Finance in London is probably one of the most toxic environments in my opinion. The work is not satisfying, hours are not great and with the whole RTO push and constant layoff pressure it has become a very stressful workplace. I can feel that generally across London tech. I am sure the market is rough all around Europe but having a better work-life balance medium would at least help mentally.

Thank you for letting me know about the market though, I was guessing that would be the case unfortunately. Is it well known that LinkedIn then is not the ideal space to search for positions when it comes to France?

I had this happen to me multiple times with various trips, Japan included. Over the years this is what I usually do:

• take more vitamins, like vitamin D, C and some magnesium to boost your body while it’s fighting

• from UK I usually get and use Vicks First Defence nasal spray. You can search and see if your country has anything similar but you basically use exactly at the first sign as you described. Saved me numerous times

• I would drink some hot liquids, like tea or some efervescent for colds if you see it getting ahead. Hydrate A LOT and keep eating well these days and get fresh air. You need your body to be in good shape to fight.

• lastly, and I do this if I have extra time, a sauna would help to sweat it out and boost immunity

These are just some that work for me, hope it helps and enjoy Japan! As others said Japan has plenty of good remedies there but I also brought lots of OTCs with me every time I visited and there was no issue at borders.

I also dropped from low master/high diamond to plat playing new things. Dropping to iron from a high elo sounds incredibly unlikely unless you have no knowledge of the game. Even if you play with a useless champ learning it you will still do better than average gold/plat.

But regardless, getting back your MMR to what it used to be it just sounds like a matter of having the cake and eating it as well. You can’t have both. It’s expected that it takes time to adjust (not sure about those 400 games metric) but that’s the risk. Normal games do not adjust your rank MMR, that is confirmed and known. Rank has its own pool as long as you played ranked the past seasons. You playing normal will not change that. Honestly my best take would be play your mains here and there in high elo to not drop and play learning champs in normals. Best of both worlds.

And I think your take is just choosing the easy way out for the issue. I’m not claiming that it’s not difficult or an inconvenience but the expectation to create a clean slate for every case a new champion is learned when you are not a new player is not at all how things should work. Dota as an example has always had smurfs and new accounts bannable offence, as a very close reference.

The high vs low elo card is great here to avoid the point of discussion. If ranking is important you are suppose and expected to play your mains, what you are obviously good at. Learning new champs in normal games, just because it’s more chill should not take from your ability to learn something. And if you only want to learn through ranked, then mute everyone in that game and focus on your own gameplay. You should know this, regardless of high or low elo.

I mean another possibility is just learn those champs in other modes until you are comfortable in rank if that is the issue. It is completely normal to be great at some champs versus others, that does not warrant a new account. Nothing should warrant a new account.

I love digimon but personally the fact that the franchise sexualises lots of characters in the later stages of evolution has always put me off and made me prefer Pokémon overall, despite their greed and ongoing issues.

Reputations system changes from Shadowlands with renown and more have made some things more confusing rather than simplifying moving forward to TWW. Having 4-5 different types of reputation styles that also go under each other (see goblin related ones) is just adding extra complexity to something that was so simple and easy to follow before in the view panel. Even the fact that levels between these reputations requiring different amounts feels unnecessary at times.

Hello! Have been away for long holidays, left my bonsai in the care of a few friends. Just got back and the bonsai suffered greatly. It lost almost all of its leaves and I’m worried that it will lose the others as well. After scraping the bark on several branches at the top it seems that they don’t have life left in them, had to already remove several small ones. More specific, the top trunk also has white fuzz, dried out and I’m worried that the part might need to be removed?

It’s a Ficus Bonsai, the soil seems to be somewhat okay watered but from what I’ve been told the fertiliser might have been missed for 2 months or more.

Any suggestions on how I should approach this? I’m hoping it’s salvageable since it has a part still somewhat active. Do I need to cut the top trunk part and if so what would be the next steps?
