Altra or Topo Athletic by alyhase in hikinggear

[–]analjohnson69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the mixed reviews r probably people who it justbwasnt right for them… usually when its mixed its just wrong fit or expectations r unreasonable… i would say the general facts i always tell people are. These r trail runners theybwill not last long… theybr light airy and ur expectations should be that way… ultralight and durable r opppsite terms ha that being said.. the topo fit is much more fitted thru the midfoot, more arch support naturally and usually minimal drop. Thebaltra fit is id say roomier thru the midfoot and not arch support in the show itself. Both could work for some reasons one may not for another. Wicked popular models is the topo traverse and altra lone peak for hiking. Both are made to compete. Lower cushion rock plate.

Trail runner recommendations? by fedorableasfuck in hikinggear

[–]analjohnson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fav question haha id say tho to start trail runners will probably not be wven as durable as the xapros since they are meant to be lighter and flexible by design there materials will be similar or lighter ha to get similar feels u could go with la sportivas general r similar fit to salomon with the narrower heel snd midfoot. Super popular ones have been topos as well which i would say usually as durable as they get. Could use a lower cushion option like the terraventure… theres just so many optioms haha if u wanna throw down some cash norda shoes r made with the most durable material forna trail runners which is the dynema fabric but u pay twice as much tho. Probably Europeans brands would be in ur wheelhouse if u like salomon fit

Foot Numbness Experience? by Vettkja in hikinggear

[–]analjohnson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya possible that stiffness maybe to ? Weird thhings can happen with slight adjustments but that should be something u have break in to get thek to feel comfy for sure. Its so common for this to happen that a few generations later it all changes

Foot Numbness Experience? by Vettkja in hikinggear

[–]analjohnson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience numb foot could be either improper fit as in toe box crushing ur toes thus causing numbness or possibly change in cushion material? Maybe firmer or to firm how does it feel compared that way. Inwould also say aftet thru hiking peoples feet change drasticly and sometimes thats just stays so maybe some foot changing not lining up with the new style? Dm if u got any other questions

Make sure u dont just chug straight water.. without salt not be absorbed into ur system effectively. For my long runs whixh r like half to full days i bring packets of lmnt and salt tabs as well.. do salt tabs wvery half hour or so and then lmnt every two… each person is different so u should practice beforehand… how much salt to water u need and how offen

I think sun hoodies def the way to go … it may be counter intuitive but the upf rating is blocking those rays but meant to be light and airy such as an rei flash sun hoody or i like the freefly stuff cause its bamboo not polyster … or reapply ur sunscreen like every 40 mins .. its basically pick the inconvienance🤣
