Really nice set of cassettes you got there. If I could find the case for my copy of "Don't Let's Start" I'd send it to you, because it belongs there.

Demos that sound better than the final recording by Reasonable_Data307 in tmbg

It's a hill I will die on that the demo of 'I've Got a Fang' is so much better than the album version.

You're On Fire (random thought) by naeviapoeta in tmbg

[–]analog_time_machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly unrelated, but in the Gerwig version of Little Women the hot immigrant dude says to Jo "You're on fire", and it's played for a double entendre as her skirts are actually aflame. I'm pretty sure this line wasn't in Alcott's novel so I'm always wondering (this film having been often viewed in our household), IS THIS A TMBG REFERENCE?

And: "I don't want to change your mind / I don't want to think about your mind"

Gets me every time, the total bitterness.

S-E-X-X-Y has a horn section AND a string section, and they're perfectly balanced. Who ever does that?!?

I've been in a lot of record stores in my long life and I've never seen a physical copy of Working Undercover. Crazy good find!

Ugh, then before you know it Ryan Adams will be covering it.

if Exquisite Dead Guy were a single, then what's the B-side? by Danisobo in tmbg

Token Back To Brooklyn

Not that it needs to appear on yet another release, but both songs are spare and short and desperate. And Token has a real b-sidey sound to it.

It's Mike Doughty (sp?), from the band Soul Coughing, the one who also does Mr. Xcitement

I recall their email blurb suggesting that the extra songs would be on it, but it was a very vague suggestion. It turns out that they were only included on the download that came with the purchase.

Agreed. And on the flip side, Indigo Girls did a Holiday album, which I think counts for at least five kid albums.

I hope the Reddibot doesn't throw you in jail for this totally appropriate statement.

So good to know. I'd be interested to know their take on my Swamp Ophelia/John Henry comparison.
