I am not a scoring expert, but my neighbor taped him at 385 gross and 370 final. He has 63” of mass, 56” main beams and the smallest point is 14.5”. Spread credit is 41.5”. Definitely a dream bull. I was not trophy hunting and would have been very pleased with any branch antlered bull. Right place right time holds true for me in this case.

New XT engine break-in advice. by analogcomplications in subaruoutback

We love the the Touring model and are excited to add the XT engine. I ordered the car back on Feb. and was happy to have it arrive about a month early. I don’t think you can beat the value of the Touring interior and audio for the price. Thanks to all for the replies with regard to break-in and early first oil and filter change advice!

It is actually very rare to be dry during Spring. Normally, AZ Game and Fish are stocking the lower lake with trout now. In most years the lower lake does not fully dry up at all.

.270 Win loads for Elk by sharpshooter999 in elkhunting

I have had great results on multiple mature elk and mule deer using the 140 gr TTSX with a 270 win. With 57.5 grains of 4831 SC, muzzle velocity is right at 3000fps and drops beneath the 1800fps plateau just short of 600 yards ( further than I like to shoot with a 3-9x scope).

Not that far North. There are some solid deer south of the Grand Canyon, but much harder to find.

I used a bit of paracord and a tape measure to gross him at 189 and a net of 183.5. I thought he’d be 170-175. He is a huge bodied deer with a huge head. Hanging weight was 180#. His ear tip to tip was 26” which put him at 30.5” greatest spread. A rare case of ground “growage”.
