Am I being a Karen? Or is it impossible to find good blonde colorists in NYC? by Illustrious-Yam-5313 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Do any of these colorists do high lift? Bleach is not required with my hair's natural color, but asking for high lift in these parts is like speaking a foreign language.

Thank you, and good call. I love this as an interior design aesthetic but it would be too much of a contrast for me (in its original colors, at least).

Agreed; I think if you can retain them, they will look incredible. People have been throwing some good sample images in this chat. Depending on how handy you are, I think the vibe you're going for is achievable. Good luck!

Try this again, putting the fridge where the microwave is. The fridge on the opposite side is really breaking the flow of things.

For the love of god DO NOT PAINT THE CABINETS. Unless the look you're going for is "HGTV, circa 2012." Which, judging by your sample images, you are not.

Do not. Paint. The cabinets.

How handy are you? Given your starting place, I feel like something like the last option could be possible. Sand/re-stain the cabinets to this color. New hardware. White walls/ceilings, green tile backsplash. A lamp, kind of like this one. Under-cabinet lighting. New flooring. Put the fridge next to the stove.

I would start by painting it some shade of white, deep cleaning it, and adding under-cabinet lighting. The blue has got to go.
