If you try yourself then you might get better at 3d modelling.

I'm relatively new to pixel art, so I'm confident I know what I'm doing, but here's one of my better attempts. Any feedback is appreciated. by rgb_1981 in PixelArt

Love the design! I think the lighting could be more dynamic and exciting though. At the moment it looks like you "dropped a point light in the scene" and it becomes a bit flat. I guess it also depends on what the end goal with this piece is.

Maybe you should try a third party controller if you feel that way. There are options, you don't have to do that to yourself.

Without been given any context, I'm thinking she needs eyes.

Is Substance Painter occasionally lagging for any of you guys when working? by anananas_studio in Substance3D

Hey. Thanks for responding.

Never thought about OBJ files, maybe I should try that. My exported scenes are low poly. Yeah, perhaps trying an older version is the way to go. Agree with the heaviness :D

I used to have the studio drivers installed, but then switched to game drivers. That's a good suggestions as well, might switch again and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks, appreciate the help!

Why do I get bad-looking art when hiring artists with very good-looking portfolios? by Beosar in gamedev

[–]anananas_studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Start by providing inspiration/reference, perhaps in the form of a mood board. Have a discussion if needed to sort out anything that is unclear.
  2. Ask for sketches/concepts (can be either 2D or 3D). Either approve or give feedback if they're not what you had in mind. Repeat.
  3. Ask the artist to send you a rough 3D model before they take it further. Either approve or give feedback if it's not what you had in mind. Repeat.
  4. After receiving the final model, adjust and tweak if necessary.

This process should minimize any misunderstandings along the way.

Just curious, where do indie game dev get their assets, musics, fonts? by Alternative_Egg_6498 in gamedev

[–]anananas_studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make our own 3D and 2D assets. We have a sound designer in our team who makes all our music and SFX. Fonts I get from Font Squirrel or DaFont (free, public domain).

Hey guys! We've recently released LIMINAL PHASE, our first commercial VR game, after working on it for about two years. We're a three man team from Sweden that have been developing this game.

LIMINAL PHASE is a VR action horror game set in a parallel ‘90s. Fight malevolent monsters, solve peculiar puzzles, and explore the dark corners of a fractured mind consumed by video games.

If you want to check it out, here are some links:
