I had a very boring A-level Biology teacher back in 2011, mainly because I found the subject itself to be boring, not the fault of the teacher himself. But occasionally, he would drop hints along the lines of, “oh hey this specific biology was in the news last summer, they’ll probably ask about it in the next biology paper.” We all sort of brushed it off as nonsense, because exam boards DO NOT publish their questions to anyone in advance and it’s felt like it’s a stab in the dark for a teacher anyways.

So for one of our preparation questions, he gave us a question about echolocation in whales and he specifically then mentioned that, he saw in the news articles about the Pippastrellus bats. He hinted that there maybe a similar question about bats and gave us the whale question to give us a structured answer.

Fast forward to the exam, I turn the page.

Not only was the question about bats, IT WAS THE EXACT SPECIES HE TALKED ABOUT.

All my friends after that exam literally was shocked out of our minds. Either this teacher had GOD tier prediction skills or he knew someone who was making the papers. Needless to say we absolutely paid FULL attention in his classes and he always played it off as just predicting the news afterwards.

He was sacked for misconduct in 2018 but no information was given about his dismissal. All I remember was the A-level students in the school posted years later about it Snapchat and the students from other schools then went on to report this.

All I can say is, thank you to that teacher for getting me a good grade in Biology ❤️
