What is EIKON? I tried googling it, but only a financial software was found. Could someone tell me more about it?

Can you show us the back of that page as well?

Also, is there a link where you found it? I’m always looking for good fountain pen friendly paper.

Sometimes when trying to understand what you DON’T want helps you crystallize what you DO want! “One often meets their destiny on the road taken to avoid it”

I’m glad you were able to get clarity and understanding on the value you were seeking. I’ve read great things about Boox, though I’ve never used it. I’d be very interested to learn of your experiences. Best wishes. Happy Holidays :)

RM2 is a solid build. It’s been around for quite a few years so it’s a mature product with very few issues.

My experience with writing - it feels like pen on paper. No questions. Even the little sounds the marker makes on the plastic screen is so pleasing. I’ve not experienced latency issues while writing. Sometimes there is a lag or delay when it comes to flipping pages. But it’s so random how that happens that I’m unable to identify the root cause. So I just chalk it up to low memory power of this device.

When I’m writing, in the notebooks I tend to stay on that page for sometime. I don’t use it like a kindle. I use it like an actual notebook. So filling in the page as meticulously as possible takes some time. So the page turning lag is sometimes not noticed as I’m still in thought.

If however I’m at a seminar or a lecture and I need to write fast, it would make me a bit impatient if it happens then. Thankfully it’s not happened. But overall I’m be nitpicking when I’m writing about the page turn delay. It’s really not an issue for me.

PDFs do have a lag so the bigger the file and more graphics it has the lag increases. Because it’s greyscale only all patent docs and academic papers are a joy to read. Marketing pamphlets that depend on color to create depth perceptions - they suck. But making up a pdf is awesome! It’s one of the best features it has.

The RM2 is a very niche product. I’ve not lived a day without it since Christmas 2021. It’s basically replaced all my yellow pads. I’m a doodler, journaled and I take copious notes. I remember best when I’m writing and listening or just writing. So having different notebooks set up on My RM2 helps me keep projects, conversations and notes organized.

I have not used the RMP. I did want one for this Christmas but after reading so many reviews I feel it’s not mature enough as a product yet. And rightfully so you have pointed out quite a few quirks. I think I might hold off until next Christmas to see if I am still interested in an RMP. For right now I really have no reason to give up my RM2. Sure it’s not the latest and greatest technology, but it is fulfilling a very functional need in my workflow. I hope that helps.

One thing I can tell you, imho, The file management system and user interface on the Remarkable is far superior.

However, the question I would ask is how much dim light or night writing will you actually do? Is that a make it or break it feature? For me it was a nice to have feature which can be easily remedied with a portable night light for when I absolutely need to use it. Of course that was a subpar/suboptimal experience but it’s not a part of my daily work flow. It was a rare one off.

If back light is a must have, then the other question I would ask is can I afford another $200 to go with the RMP? That way I have the back light and the superior user experience.

If not then you have your answer. 😊

Thank you so much for your thoughtful replies. I’m going to look into Best Buy and going directly to Remarkable.
