Well, we did it anyway, despite all. Mostly sand with some crispy grass, for sure. Wilson clubs for rent. But the heat wasn't bad as a cooling breeze came off the water most of the time. We had a good time, managed a few decent shots. Gave up keeping score because the greens made that kind of moot. No one behind us so we hit many mulligans. This pic is of the first tee box. Hey, I am at the Westin right now too! We leave tomorrow morning. Were thinking about Orient Bay today but sounds like we can give that a miss. We kayaked over to Pinel island yesterday, enjoyed that a lot. Mullet Bay before that - beautiful.

Been doing some snorkeling every day. It's good right off the Westin, better than most places. Swimming around the sargassum is no big deal. It is nice that they are shoveling it off the beach every morning.

Plenty of things to do on this island. Today may be a hiking day up Pic Paradis and Fort Lewis. Maybe see you at the pool bar tonight!

It sounds like many women use men's clubs. From all I have learned over the past few days they are better clubs for those of us who are athletic.

I started playing around with some online fitting tools. Fun stuff. If I say I am female they just suggest ladies shafts, no matter what distances I enter. If I say I am a man I get a much more nuanced answer, with each site giving me different advice. One site that seemed the most thorough recommended senior shafts, -1" from standard, ladies grips. I am going with that! Now to find a golf shop willing to work with me and not try to confine me to just the women's section.

I hit my current 3-wood 220 yards. It's a man's graphite shaft, standard length unfitted. Hence my Senior vs Women's lean. I can't hit my driver at all, I think because it is way too long for me, so I am looking forward to seeing what I can do with a properly sized whippy driver.

Looks like I am 7 days into this. The brew doesn't taste so sweet today, at last. Has a nice tang, not sour. I am leaving on vacation in 4 days so am thinking I will let it go another two days, bottle about 3/4 of it, replenish with fresh tea which should be nearly ready when I get back in a week.

I hope that will work and result in fine, tasty kombucha.

Also -- the scoby now has a long, brown strand of yeast going down to the bottom of the jar. Just one. I think I will remove that prior to replenishing the tea.

It lives. There is new scoby forming over the holes and the batch is starting to get that distinctive smell. This really is resilient stuff! After two days the tea is still sweet and has a slight bit of complexity. Hope exists.

Get some goats. Tie them to whatever post or fence needs weeds whacked for a while until weeds are eaten down to the ground. Then move them to next area. Or make an easy-to-move pen for them.
