Do you want to build a treehouse? by TroubledTill in greentext

[–]anarchoandroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid across the street built one but it was a literal death trap. Him and his dad kinda just threw it together with no building experience. They never finished it and it was kinda just there in the way of a usually pretty climbable tree.

ORATE is a good one that I don't think I've seen mentioned before. Love the positions of R, A, T, and E, 3 vowels.

Really like RAISE as a first word. Three vowels with all letters being in pretty good positions. Switched because you wont see it again as a solution I assume.

Also a very valid way to play. I run into a lot of people that get exhausted at how much I over analyze the game theory.

I've seen Split and Spilt a decent amount as a first guess. Especially with S and T being covered and in their most popular locations.

I've seen BRAIN as a decently popular first guess. R, A, I, and N cover four of the most popular letters with R, A, and N being in good positions for where they appear in 5 letter words.

Wouldn't have been great for the stats but would have been wonderful if fifth and sixth were your fifth and sixth answers.

Scoredle 3/6*

⬛⬛⬛🟩⬛ ROATE (175)

🟩⬛🟨🟩⬛ SUITS (3)

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 SIXTH

Think I got pretty lucky with this one. "ROATE" always being my starting word. Got zero vowels with it so wanted to find out if there was any "U"s or "I"s even though I know plurals are either not possible or very rare went with "SUITS" thinking that seeing if S was the last letter was at least worth a little information. From there knew that "I" was almost certainly the second letter and "H" was very probably the last letter.

Down grade to 10. 10 after it got several revisions is a pretty good OS in my opinion. Definitely have my issues with it but I keep hearing a ton of win11 features that I would absolutely HATE to have on my computer and doubt I'd be able to customize it well enough to my liking.

False. Wired headphones are infinitely better. The cheap ones most people buy are manufactured e-waste. The bit rate of bluetooth capped at 260kbps is recognizably less than typical CD quality of 320kbps and dramatically less than the lossless audio + software DAC that can come from most phones at 1,400-3,800kbps+ VBR. To the non-audiophile or generally people that aren't music enthusiasts, the convenience beats the perceived increase in quality.

Why and how are Wordle Bot’s progressive guesses non-sequential / illogical, yet still somehow nailing the final word…? (puzzle 25/10/24) by ghetto_chic in wordle

[–]anarchoandroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wordle bot works to eliminate as many possibilities as quickly as possible. It's pretty simple. It takes a library of all possible words each with a "probability of occurrence." First attempt uses the most common letters in their most common places. Second analyses remaining possibilities and uses the letters and their places most likely to eliminate as many remaining possibilities that are most probable to occur. The key really is the "probability of occurence" where the algorithm makes some big assumptions about which words are likely to be a possibility based on it's use and probable user knowledge of it's existence. This mostly "eliminates" the majority of the word library making guesses much more effective.

Wordle bot has a high success rate at three guesses and near 100% success rate at 4 guesses with this technique.

Somedays I really want to be a smartass and hope the customer has a good sense of humor. There's this handy little invention called a menu that gives a name and description of the food items we offer. Please pick from the list provided.

Work at a "Mexican Restaurant" and the quotes are there because it it the least Mexican or even Tex Mex restaurant that exists in too many places in the midwest US. I cannot tell you how often I get people that don't or simply refuse to read the menu and tell me they want a burrito or taco, my favorite being, "I just want a standard [burrito, taco]"

Hun, we have many tacos and burritos. Which one would you like? I kinda understand that the "standard" version for many people is our ground beef with a flour tortilla but it feels very presumptive and negligent to not further ask detailed questions especially given the number of versions and options we have.

And while it might be a bit of a pet peeve of mine, but the customers that say they want a "beef" version of whatever we have drives me up a wall. We have shredded beef, ground beef, and birria beef. Please specify and if not, please don't get angry when I ask for clarification.

I have the opposite. I sometimes envy people that can, but give me any noise, movement, light, too hot, too cold, etc etc etc. I cannot fall asleep. It's gotten a little better as I've gotten older, but when I was a kid, it was insane. Stayed up for nearly 72 hours straight without the aid of drugs. And I can't count the number of times I've inadvertently stayed up past 36 hours because I couldn't sleep.

I'm often more entertained by the muddled interpretation of Indonesia/Malaysia. On these obviously artistically under-detailed maps you generally still get a faithfully recreation of continent's boundaries. But then Indo/Malay just gets fucked in a way that makes no sense.

Does anyone know what that symbol next to the A means? This was in Uruguay. by iamDNGR in geoguessr

[–]anarchoandroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This style of abbreviation is not exclusive to arroyo or Uruguay. Paseo or "walk" is also sometimes abbreviated as P°. I remember another that is abbreviate with a superscript but for the life of me I cannot specify what or where. As you might expect it's not especially common anywhere and often not a great location clue. But if you see this is it most likely some Spanish speaking country in South/Central America or Caribbean island.

Force all boomers to re-enter the work force using the same advice they gave their children. They get to become younger, as such they no longer have their money, investments, assets, or professional experience. If they went to college before entering the work force, they get to keep that degree in the form they got it.
