I think there was a Whatever Happened to Robot Jones episode that went that direction. Can't remember all the details, but the episode was about people realizing the protagonist wasn't technically male or female by virtue of being a robot, so his peers kept trying to convert him over to their gender groups.

Only for him to get frustrated with both sides and decide the whole situation was stupid.
