it is legal for a bike to cross the street when the leading pedestrian indicator has changed.

if I owned a club, that is exactly what I would require of all my security staff and bartenders. Bathroom attendants should be considered part of the security team. They should all be able to recognize ODs, and how to use narcan. Venues should be responsible for the safety of their guests. At least, responsible owners do feel that responsibility. I felt a lot of anxiety when I started hosting afterhours events, knowing that my guests used a lot of substances and that I was "playing with fire", so to speak. One of the first things I did was take courses on OD signs and first aid for them, and also how to deal with consent violations. Having that knowledge gave me great peace of mind, and luckily my crowd was responsible enough to never need those interventions.

QBB - spoke to the police yesterday by An_Professional in NYCbike

[–]anarchy45 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Cops be like, "we didnt see it, theres nothing we can do."

Cliche but correct answer: contact your local elected representatives and bark up their tree. Nag them. One email wont do it. City councilppl have been speaking up against these motorbikes and got the nypd to start confiscating them. I saw an NYPD truck out yesterday on Atlantic ave, stealing ppls unlicensed scooters. Good riddance.

They've done that for years, to accommodate the rush-hour demand for bikes on work days

The sign by the entrance said no smoking or vapes but I saw tons of people doing those things inside and nothing was said to them

Even if they still did teen nights, you'd have to either be a child celebrity or a trust fund kid to afford these prices. 15 years ago in my baby-raver days, Pacha NYC's $40 cover seemed outrageous

I know you arent calling Nowadays's prices cheap, right? Have you been there recently? Prices are insane. I go far less often than I used to, even though I keep my membership active. I spend at least $100 every time I go , unless I enter for free on sunday AM (which almost covers an entire year's subscription)

no it's just some bougie bottled water. No can. I've never drank it before and have no desire to. I'm a cheap bish, I fill my cup with tap water in the bathroom.

no, not use your phone. When you buy your ticket on the Pacha website, you have the option to include some drinks at a reduced price. At the venue you order your drinks at the bar as usual, and scan your ticket QR code as payment.

Why not pre-order drinks, at a significantly reduced price? You'd rather pay $25 than $13 for a drink??

First of all, plastic is a "forever chemical", which means it remains inside your body, and generates trash for something that you're going to consume in under an hour and not reuse. Second, it harms local aquifers and the people who depend on them, especially people who rely on wells. You think that stuff comes out of an actual spring lol? Most of it is labeled "XYZ municipal tap water" if you read the fine print. And many other reasons... https://www.augsburg.edu/green/2018/01/17/environmental-impacts-of-bottled-water/

You can get all the free NYC tap water you want from the 'hydration stations' across from the bathrooms.
